iPhones have nothing to do with clothing yet peer pressure is why lots of kids buy 1 so they won’t get teased or pushed out of chats cause they don’t have the same color bubble in a group chat.. so dress code or not they still trying to keep up with the joneses and trying to fit in with the current expensive trends..its just on the tech version of it

Yes Sirrrr, There was basically a caste system based on fashion, I’m not going to act innocent like I didn’t clown people, but as an adult I see how cruel it can be. I see this as one less thing kids have to worry about.

Part of the American culture (or lack of) is believing that love is expressed by the more you spend on an individual (what a diabolical yet genius concept perpetuated by Madison Avenue and the big corporate wigs who are the sellers.
As a kid you probably felt special or loved by your parents for having the latest J's, or other brand-named gear, as for the kids who couldn't afford those clothes, many of them felt unloved or jealous, planting in them the seeds of hate that can grow up to them selling drugs for them to get rid of these feeling. Some even go as far as selling their bodies or doing "favors" for people for these material goods of "love" and many times these seeds of greed and shame are planted in our brains long before we have enough wisdom and understanding of the situation.
What's sad is how we all can relate to the way you felt back then, due to the ubiquitousness of this phenomenon in our community.
