he's done his part OFFENSIVELY, but the game is played on both ends...Wade and Lebron play both ends of the floor...Dirk has'nt defended the paint...neither has Chandler or Marion, or any of their bigs...If Lebron or Wade were simply putting up 30-35 points per night and not stopping anyone on the defensive end, they'd be called out for it...I agree other Mavs players have to step up as well, but Dirk isn't exactly a defensive stopper ...but he gets a pass because he scores 30, and hits all of his free throws??

I feel you bro, but its just unrealistic to compare Jet to those guys you mentioned. Certainly at this stage in his career. That team is set up to spread the offensive responsibilities after Dirk. There is no true #2 in the traditional sense (Pip, Gasol, Wade, Bosh, etc..). Jet is that second scoring option but theres only so much he can do with the matchup he has. Im impressed that he has effectively limited Lebrons offensive production by occupying him defensively. At that point it becomes a coaching and adjustment issue. In my opinion your starters are the bigger problem. Specifically the backcourt. You need more out of both of them and your wack ass coach needs to better exploit any lineup that has Mike Bibby in it. I used to be a big Bibby fan but lets face it, he is trash. I have yet to see this taken advantage of.

Terry came through like a muthafucka in the last 3 games but tonight that was all him...
Jet was the difference maker indeed. Even Dirk said his team carried him this game. However, I'd still give Dirk the MVP because he's been the most consistent. Jet was right...Miami couldn't keep their style of play up the whole series without wearing themselves out. The whole Heat team looked worn out at the end.

In a six game series he was the best overall player in 2 games, arguably 3, and definitely the best in the deciding close out. In doing so he was guarded by the best perimeter defender in the game. He proved that the team goes as he does and he was clearly the emotional leader of the team. In this series we saw Dirk have a big game and the team lose (1 and 3) but whenever Terry performed well the result was a "W" (even when his great play accompanied a Dirk stinker). What perspective is more proper than that?
If they didnt give it to Gasol last year they werent gonna give it to Terry this year

The team goes as he does because you know Dirk is going to be productive night in, night out, or more consistently than Terry.
So when Dirk is more consistent, you add Jason Terry and that changes it.
So yeah, the team goes how Terry goes because if he doesn't support Dirk, then they'll have a tougher time winning.
And in this series, Terry was the determining factor. He was the most valuable player. When he had good games they won. Dirks play varied and the team won and loss both during his good play and stinkers. Terry was the only constant. When he balled, they won. They won when Dirk played awful. They couldnt win when terry played awful. Period.
