Romney says, on day one (1) if he is elected, he will repeal the Affordable Care Act (euphemistically referred to by the Republicans as Obamacare).

Now, <s>Muffuckka</s>, I mean <s>Rafuckka</s> . . . damn, thats hard for me to say -- (but, trying again) Rafalca the dressage horse partly-owned by the Romney's provides the family a $77,000 tax credit, <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">$2,000 of which is spent on</span> the <s>Muffuckka's</s>, I mean <s>Rafuckka's</s> . . . sheesh, <SPAN style="BACKGROUND-COLOR: #ffff00">Rafalca's health care</span> !

My question is, (actually I have two questions):

  • How much does the average American family spend yearly on health care; and

  • Is this why Romney won't release his tax returns ???

Of course that's part of the problem.

Fortunately, "Obamacare" has regulations in place that made the insurance companies give back over a billion dollars in rebates, effectively bringing down the cost of coverage.
Now if we can get some more serious legislators in DC and statehouses, we can really tackle health care costs directly.

3A, its not me you have to worry about son, it is, as you say, those on "Your Side" that you have to be concerned with.

While you were chiding me:

  • Repub Party boss Reince Priebus was on ABC's "This Week" calling Harry Reid a "Dirty Liar;"

  • Virginia Governor Bob McDonnel was on Face the Nation talking bout how Harry Reid was reckless and saying slanderous things about Robme, and

  • Senator Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., on CBS saying ole Harry is lying his ass off. LOL


Seems to me, while those three were carrying out their marching orders to go on the attack, they were successfully drawing attention to Robme's ridiculousness and stubborness in refusing to release those returns.

Thank em for me, please.

Oh, and thank them for insuring that the tax-issue won't be going away soon and the national press will Keep on with the tax angle.

I have decided to stop asking AAA to explain Romney's positions or to explain what he supports about Romney. First, ultimately the answer is self evident: Romney is a "R". Second, watching countless professionals who actually live this politics shit 24/7, many of whom actually get paid by Romney and his campaign, fail to explain Romney's positions with any consistency makes it unfair for me to expect a layman like AAA to be able to competently do it. If he could, he's losing money not working on the Romney campaign because they need someone who with that skillset.

The whole health care system. The legal paper work both hospitals, and private doctors have to fill out. All of the redundant regulations ONE must follow just to be a doctor *in any practice*.

The more regulation, the more tax burdens, the higher the cost.

I disagree with George Will.

1. Nothing good comes from releasing taxes to a campaign that will not run on their record. This situation would be different if Obama had an economy that was blossoming *5% unemployment, 6% GDP*. The only thing a desperate Obama campaign can do is distort ANYTHING you do. That is all. Only folks who believe this bullshit are folks who would more than likely vote for Obama anyway.

2. Things like this matter if Romney accepts the media's premise of him not being conservative enough. Romney has demonstrated with his pick for VP is that he will not follow the traps McCain fell for. McCain's biggest issue was handicapping his campaign because of fear of being seen as a racist. Romney is going to make this issues based, and ideology based campaign. Therefore, it makes no difference about what President Obama may want, when it comes to tax returns. Especially when the administration have an admitted tax cheat as Treasury secretary.

3. I like George Will, but he is definitely wrong on this issue IMO.

BTW, I love Romney's pick.

If it was just this, you might have a point. But Romney is secretive on EVERYTHING. He hasn't been specific about anything except how he's going to "repeal Obamacare", which everyone knows it's damn near impossible for him to have the votes to do.

I'm just going to say this, and be done with this thread. BHO can like anything he wants. You can also believe anything you want, but what I believe is, Paul Ryan is what Romney needed. To be honest, I kept my mouth shut about Romney's policy because I wanted to see how serious he is about beating BHO. Picking Ryan means that he is willing to do what's needed to attack Obama's record. Obama can like this pick if he thinks fear will win him an election. However, I believe faith beats fear. If Obama, and his surrogates wanna run on fear mongering, then by all means do so. Good luck with that.

Romney just gave up Florida unless he (and you) think seniors are going to go along with making Medicare a voucher program that puts them on the private market while at the same time dismantling "Obamacare" which would force private companies to take seniors.

He's been attacking Obama's record, since before the primaries got going but this is a sign that he's "serious". You can't be serious when you type that drivel.

Pointing out your opponent's deficiencies isnt fearmongering, so relax the right wing buzzwords that are meant to excite and distort.

romney has probably been paying less than 10% in taxes for the past 10-15 years. when you consider that for much of the past decade the capital gains tax rate has been around 15-20 percent, then combined with insane deductions/credits such as for his horses, he's probably been paying effective tax rates around 5%. Then considering the losses that many rich folks accumulated during the great recession, maybe he hasnt paid ANYTHING for a few years.

either way, whatever is in there is so bad that he's decided he's going to disclose less than what would be expected of anyone he nominates to a cabinet level position. it must be very ugly indeed.

So if we eliminate the paperwork the insurance companies create, the 9 and 10 figure salaries the insurance company executives create for themselves and fancy office buildings they add on to the cost of medical care you have just saved between 14 and 20.

He sought five years of returns, from 2007 to 2012. Romney, governor of Massachusetts from 2003 to 2007, has released 2010 returns and estimates of his 2011 taxes. In 2010, he paid taxes at a 13.9 percent rate, and in 2011, he expected to pay at a 15.4 percent rate.

"In the Governor's case, a five-year release would appropriately span all the years that he has been a candidate for president," Messina said. "It would also help answer outstanding questions raised by the one return he has released to date, such as the range in the effective rates paid, the foreign accounts maintained, the foreign investments made and the types of tax shelters used."
