According to SamMobile’s sources, the Galaxy Note 5 will sport a 5.7-inch Super AMOLED display with 2560 x 1440 resolution. The company also tested a 4K screen for the device, deciding to go with a 2K panel for this year.

More interestingly, the Galaxy Note 5 will be the first Samsung handset to sport an all-in-one ePoP chip that will include a 64-bit octa-core Exynos 7422 processor, GPU, RAM, storage and Shannon LTE modem. The phone will have a flat display and a glass back, meaning that it’s not likely not offer users a microSD slot or access to a user-replaceable battery.

In addition to Project Noble (the Galaxy Note 5 that has model number SM-N920), Samsung is also developing Project Zen, believed to be the bigger Galaxy S6 edge Plus handset (model number SM-G928). The phone should feature a bigger dual-edge display, a Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 processor, 32GB of internal storage, a 16-megapixel camera with optical image stabilization, 4K video recording, a 5-megapixel front-facing camera and a 3,000 mAh battery.

The phone’s Lollipop-based software will supposedly come with a fix for the TouchWiz RAM issues that are affecting existing Galaxy S6 models.

I know a few people who will react exactly like that

Bad move, imo... they arent in Apples position where they don't have to listen to their users

Yes, I'm reacting this way. I was waiting on this phone for my upgrade. :smh:

I think the majority of Note users will get over it if it comes with an inductive charger and 64Gb as the base model.

It was bound to happen though, that Alpha device they came out showed their hand.

My reaction is the same as it was the first time this was posted last week.

I may have to hold on to my 3 a little while.

samsung can get away with a non-replaceable battery as long as they equip the phone with a GREAT battery... that can last thru a day.

what they can't do is make a bigger, faster, more powerful phone and equip it with a weak ass battery that requires you to plug-in more than 2x per day.

Thats what happened with the S6 though, smaller battery than previous gen... trying to make up for it with quick charging and wireless charging helps, but there is nothing like a big ass battery that just lasts. Or the option to swap.

I never even take my note 4 out of its case not worried about exchanging batteries this isn't those htc evo days.

Man I don't know how you guys can operate with out a removable battery, I have three and lord knows how many times that shit saved my ass on various occasions.
Anyways I love the Note 4 as a phone, don't give a flying fuck about no brand... So if I ever upgrade I will turn to the brand that is offering what I need from a phone, if Samsung goes the Iphone rout I will treat their product the way I treat Iphones, middle finger up and all..

Welp might be time to suck it up and buy the next iPhone. Samsung is tripping fucking with the note format.

I carry a second battery and my wife (iPhone) gets mad heated when I flip batteries and keep on going while she's searching for a charger and outlet.

I bought a portable battery pack that has two USB connections and power for days. I just carry that with me when I know I'm going to be away from an outlet for a long time. Unfortunately, my battery in his Nexus 5 only lasts a few hours now without being charged, and less if I'm doing a bunch with it.

man look... Planned obsolescence or built-in obsolescence[1] in industrial design is a policy of planning or designing a product with an artificially limited useful life, so it will become obsolete...

you see... yall wont get rid of your SI, SII or SIII so sammie is going to take the route that works so well for Apple.... a rechargeable battery that lasts for about a year and a half then starts getting real flaky... spend money to get the battery changed or just use that free upgrade...your choice..

I carry my usb cord with me and generally in front of a computer.

I haven't purchased an additional battery since my Sanyo 7300.

Good point

What if you have saved a download or a picture or video that you haven't had a chance to upload yet and the phone dies? With a SD card you can easily transfer those files/pics to a different device.

Aside from a dead battery, when my Note locks up, and it does sometimes, it's a lot easier to pull the battery and reset it then to rely on button combination time.

In that scenario i'd be sol until I recharged my device.

I've never run into that scenario.

Last device that I had that froze up on me was my S3.

Never an issue of my device freezing up that required a battery pull with my Epic 4S, Moto X, Galaxy Nexus or my current Nexus 5.

I'm anti sd and removable battery, have been for years.

Well consider yourself the luckiest Android user ever. But EVO 4G, Note 2, Note 3, wife's S4 and errrybody else I know have had to reset their phone at least once.

:lol::lol: then you won't have the option to replace the battery OR install a microSD. that's like two steps back.

I carry a second battery and my wife (iPhone) gets mad heated when I flip batteries and keep on going while she's searching for a charger and outlet.

:lol::lol: my friends used to get heated by this too. but with my note 3, i go right at 24 hrs (it seems) btw charges. i can live with that.

i dare you to go in any car thread and discuss "planned obsolescence," aka "design life."

mofos don't understand how engineers DESIGN cars (the worst investment you can make) to start breaking down and failing. remember the old saying, "dammit... right when i get this car paid-for, it starts breaking down."

that shit is by design. under all the luxury, and behind the high price, some cars are nothing more than VERY average... to get you back in the showroom within 3 yrs.

and with phones, the same is true... the engineers won't make/build one that can last very long; they want you to get frustrated with "issues" and upgrade.

hyper-consumerism. :yes::yes::yes:

All those devices have a skin running on top of them.:D

I stick with stock Android devices.

Only issues I've had with my devices are the camera has sucked on each and every one of them.

Little by little these mofos are turning into the very thing most of their customer base hated and went to them for. Get rid of expandable memory, and now this... Shit might aswell be an iphone...

The note edge is, hands down, the best phone - from form factor, to wow factor, to practical use - I have ever had. The fact that they are dropping hints that there will not be a 2nd version already had me heated. But to go the way of CrApple, and no removable card, and possible battery too, will leave me not upgrading. I will never go to Apple but I will tweak the hell out of my note edge and probably buy a backup one when the price really drops in January. F-u samsung.

Samsung Mobile lacks vision.

Not having a removable battery doesn't bother me as much as not having a Micro SD slot

havent had to reset mine since.... like evo design 4g. note 3 never... note 4 sometimes but thats because its overclocked on a custom rom...

Samsung Mobile lacks vision.

actually, the opposite is true.

samsung has too much damn vision. they're trying to make too many models in too many price ranges.

:smh::smh::smh:

a few premier devices with world-class features with great batteries... that's all.

this!!!

If they make arguably the best phone on the market how is offering lesser models a bad thing? It doesn't take away from their ability to lead in the market.

Shit thats even worse...:smh: But another reason why I did the removable battery is because I always root my joint, and no way in fuck am I going to risk rooting my joint where I can't physically pull out a battery just to restart my shit if I accidently brick it.,.

Lol gonna be waiting again like every year for me. I still see no reason to upgrade my note 2.nova launcher keeps up with the updates and the 3000 battery still strong.unplugged at 6 this morning its now at 20 percent. get a note 3 or 4 one day or whatever will have a sd card slot and a strong battery. samsung need to look at htc and see what happened to them when they took away sd and non removable battery mugs aint been right since. they so busy trying to do those numbers from two years ago that they dont see they fucking up.might have to look into lg if all else fails
