Someone who is on the squad that wasn't on the team last year.... I tried to tell anyone that would listen, if given the chance on a contender he would shine... Now, he has his opportunity!!!!

it is now but in about one more year the Hornets can be one of the top teams in the West because Denver is going to ship both Carmelo and Billups, San Antonio is too old and Phoenix will be rebuilding soon.

No doubt. I am definitely looking for them to make some moves, and all of these people believing CP3 is coming east are in for a big surprise?!?!? He is definitely an Alpha type personality, and with the way the team is playing, why go to a place where there is no guarantee you can be a contender? Even with Amare NY needs A LOT more in the way of personnel because they still won't win with what they have. Plus, all of the agg LeBron has had to deal with with this Miami thing, plus if they DON'T win the Chip this year, NO might be sitting pretty for a few years! Willie Green will prove to be one of the most reliable combo guards off the bench, which is aggravating because I KNOW the Sixers could have used him this year!!! We Stay letting talent slip through our hands... :smh:

Because the turnaround has nothing to do with Chris Paul being healthy or Coach Williams taking over

OPINION
NEW ORLEANS -- Consistently throughout the past few seasons, there has been one over-riding question - who will give Chris Paul a legitimate break off the bench.

Tuesday night, Monty Williams began to give away his answer.

Jerryd Bayless and Willie Green combined for 34 points and nine assists while Marcus Thornton sat on the bench with a DNP - Coach’s Decision and the Hornets cruised in the fourth quarter to a 101-82 win over the woeful Los Angeles Clippers.

Nearly a week ago, Williams hinted that he would take his rotation from three guards down to two.

It looks like he found his two. Paul plays zero minutes in the fourth quarter and finished with only 13 points and eight assists in 28 minutes. The time he spends resting on the bench now is the time that will pay off down the stretch when the Hornets are pushing for a playoff spot.

It’s not like Paul wanted to spend the game’s final 12 minutes on the bench. But it certainly was a luxury.

“I just sat over there and I was enjoying it,” Paul said. “When you see those guys get in that rhythm, those are my guys. We not one of those teams where it’s like, ‘I hope he misses so I can go back in.’ I want to see those guys play well and it was great to watch that fourth quarter.”

Indeed, it was fun for the 12,479 who paid to visit the Arena on Girod.

Prior to Tuesday’s contest, Williams said Bayless, who the Hornets picked up in a trade with Portland for a conditional future No. 1 pick, was going to have to pick up his game. He said Bayless was “pressing because he wants to do well...”

Bayless and Green scored 26 of New Orleans’ 31 fourth-quarter points and traded the first eight baskets of the quarter as well as two free throws.

He’s pressing no more.

“I’ve been trying just to fit in here right now,” Bayless said. “David (West), Chris (Paul) and Monty (Williams), everybody has been telling me to be more aggressive. But I’ve been feeling it out. Tonight was a night where I finally felt really comfortable and make shots and make plays for other people. It really went well.”

Added Green, “We were just being aggressive. I was finding him and he was finding me. It was just fun.”

The Hornets got 47 points from the bench, the bulk coming from Bayless and Green. But the bench gave Williams what he wanted and needed - 10 rebounds, 12 assists, 3 steals and, most importantly, first-team minutes from Jason Smith (23 1/2), Green (25) and Bayless (20).

“I shouldn’t have to put Chris (Paul) back in the game to save the day all the time,” Williams said. “A lot of the time, he does because he’s playing at an NBA clip right now. But a lot of the times, I’ve learned over my short career that the bench can win you, on a good team, five or 10 games, because they come in and play with energy and they give you something they didn’t have.”

For those wondering if the Hornets are for real, the win against the Clippers should give you your answer. On a night when the defense wasn’t solid, the offense took over. After letting L.A. stick around for three quarters, the Hornets opened the game in the fourth thanks to the bench.

More to the point, thanks to Bayless and Green.

Like Paul said, there’s nothing better than watching Paul and smiling on the bench. It means everyone else is doing their job.

Has more to do with the chemistry that's developing more than the players. West and Okafor work well together on the front line. Okakor is just good enough offensively so that West doesn't have to score all the points in the paint and West is just good on the glass that Okafor doesn't have to do it all by himself. If one of the 3 off guards can manage to do something besides shoot (like defend other off guards) they could very well have something here. And don't sleep on the Bayless pickup that helps Chris Paul get some rest in key spots without too big of a dropoff
