"No Flex Zone" - Rae Sremmurd - The new Kid N' Play??

On another tip, these little fools look like they in middle school. Since when is it cool to talk about bitches and hoes and cuss and shit where your moms can hear? I'm over 40 and still feel uncomfortable cussing in front of my folks. I've often wondered, do any of these niggas have a ounce of fucking respect?

It's all about respect til mama see the BMW you bought her with that disrespectful song

Y'all just old. Y'all outgrew music. Time to find other artists or genres because rap is evolving...maybe to something you don't like but your fathers and grandfathers didn't like that 80's or 90's hip hop either.

Let's build.
I don't feel like you were trying to clown but I couldn't listen to the entire song because i just wasn't feeling it. I am one of those "old heads" now and i wanted to tell you my inherent problem with recent rap acts: they ALL sound the same.
Check this flow:
hoes be - peepin - watchin - me in - cold ass - gamma blues (JORDANS!!)
Bugz bunnies - baron nines - hate mah - crazy shoes (flossin!!)

I haven't been able to embrace the lack of lyrical content and increasingly lazy flow.
As moist as Drake is, i can admit he does have bars. Rick Ross has some flow, but i cant accept how people gave this wrestler a pass for being a character - and buying into it.
Them young boys do got flow, but i am not their intended demographic. I expect more from music and im not impressed by tracks.

 Yessir

I made it to 1:12 and the rope was slowly starting to tighten around my neck.

WTF has happened to our music
Think about how dumb you sound.

The generation before us said the same of 'their music' to the shit we jammed to.

Bruh they from Mississippi

Here's my viewpoint. People are criticizing EVERYTHING that comes out now.
This genre is more saturated now than in the 80s up the to the early-mid 90s.

So there's way more music, more artists, and it's more accessible than it's ever been.

You take that, plus the fact that when we talk about the stuff that we listened to, we talk about the acts, albums, or songs that have LASTED. There's a LOT of bullshit that came out during that time, it just doesn't stand the test of time and is forgotten. Even some very good stuff gets forgotten. How many times an old hip hop song you loved as a kid comes on and you're like 'damn I forgot about this!'?

Now consider the garbage that came out- you're DEFINITELY forgetting that shit.

I realize this when I see people who were teens in the crunk era talk shit about this current music and opine for their 'good ole days' of 2005.

Then I think- shit, I remember that being TRASH!

10-15 years from now, the people who are teens currently will be sounding like many of you, shitting on the next group, and talking about the good ole days of Kendrick Lamar, Drake, etc....

So like someone else said- let them be. Play your oldies the way our folks played theirs and tuned our shit out.

At least they actually rapping and rhyming with a pattern instead of singing melodies with they voice cracking and screeching like they going through puberty.

Them niggas are in their 20's fam. I don't know why they sound like they haven't hit puberty yet.

I posted too quickly.
One last point, talking generationally - there has always been a collection of quality acts, and the "bullshit" was always less commonplace than hot groups with hot albums. As time has elapsed, the paradigm has shifted to putting out a product that has been dumbed down and focuses more on what WASN'T acceptable "back in the day" than it by todays standard. So without going through a 30+ discography, you saw we had krs-1 and Rakim for every chubb-rock and doug e fresh. Even the fun-themed rappers put out good tracks. I don't see that in recent years. I understand everything they're saying, and again i recognize im not the attended target audience. So ONLY IN MY OPINION, that song is lousy - and i have stated my reason why.

Yea its not meant as a insult. When I say you're "too old" I don't mean it literally. For instance 2 Chainz is 40 but you can be in your 20's and be too old for that shit.

And I agree with you on all accounts. Except that they all sound the same. The ones on the radio definetly do. That's the industry. Its a copycat industry. Always has been. When Pac came out labels went to go and find the next Pac. Labels now want to find the next Drake. I wish there was more variety on the radio but at the same time I also know radio plays what people want to hear and these younger cats and audiences out here in their teens.....they are the ones radio wants to appease and cater too.

These cats IMO are nothing special. But their sound is a bit different than the same Trap music we've been hearing on radio for years.

So if a nigga don't like what yoy like they old or otherwise??? Fuck outta here, nigga. I'm 28 & I understand err'thang they talm'bout & it's still garbage to me.

Real talk I work with a lot of teenagers and they'll tell you today's rap is cool to party and dance but when they want to chill and hear some good music. They listening to older rap. I was surprised that these youngsters in Houston love 2pac, UGK and Bone (and still be on S.U.C)

Nah, my pops is 67 and he liked snoop dog, ice cube, fresh prince when I was younger; I could listen to Heavy D, Kwame or LL Cool J with my mom in the car.

These days I can't listen to none of this rap music with my daughter

The ONLY connection to Kid N Play I can see is that there are two people in the group. Why release an EP if they've got so many songs "already in the can"? I would love to be wrong, but if Mike Will don't Make It, these kids will wind up being the next Cali Swag Cartel...
You release an EP to gain data from the market for analysis. Once that analysis is done you can either scrap the artist or specifically craft the album by the way the market reacts.
Well, if you ain't notice, it's party music. Not on the gangsta/sellin drugs tip. That's what cats complain about all the time right?
Did you listen to the same record I listened to?
Nigga, that shit garbage. It ain't got nothin' to do w/age.
Thank you! I jammed the whole New Gucci, Brick Factory last night and it was Fire!!! And I don't rock with Guwop or that style of music like that. Good music is good music and it resonates over all boundaries....old ...young...well off...poor.
This shit is Trash!
So if a nigga don't like what you like they old or otherwise??? Fuck outta here, nigga. I'm 28 & I understand err'thang they talm'bout & it's still garbage to me.
Basically... Bro niggas are bandwagon hoppers. Bet if I plaed one of these niggas a heavy metal record with a tough guitar rip they would automatically call it trash cause their homies ain't jamming it. Fuck these twitter niggas folk!

Where you plugged at Shaddy?

Who's fault do you think that is? The younger generation, or the one preceding it?

Think on that for a moment...

THey sound like kids but them dudes grown. They are in their 20's. I ain't gonna lie. No Flex Zone and "No Type" are some cold ass records. They adding a little something different to the game. Making it somewhat fun and not all serious or fake gangsta shit. Or on some lovey dovey type shit word to Aubrey.

WTF are they eating and drinking in Mississippi to be in their 20s looking like 12 y/o kids? I might be an old head, but this shit got me like this.
:dance::dance::dance::dance:

Its about what they are not eating and what their mommas were drinking when they were pregnant! But on the real fam its cool to look malnourished these days...just toss a bunch of tats over your bird and some small jeans with a gucci belt and you are good to go.
