Nissan maxima, the blacksheep of nissan

Yeah, I'd like to see it in AWD... I had two Max's, 1990 and 2000, and they were fun cars to drive. I never had a RWD car so although I've always heard that they perform better, I can't even compare them. All I know is that for non-racers who just want a car that can take off like a rocket when needed, they are great vehicles.

I'm driving a Subaru Legacy now, and I love the AWD (but hate hate fuckin hate the low profile tires by the way.... more fucking sidewall punctures than I ever imagined ) and the one thing I really miss is that Maxima take off speed when I'm trying to gun it on to the Turnpike or Parkway. It was real nice almost never having to wait for a big break in traffic; just hit the gas and BOOM!

You dont wanna fuck with that RWD in the snow, If u live more or less where it's not prevalent(SNOW) by all means "Go 4 Urs", I would like to see it in an AWD platform, then maybe i"ll do a 4Yr plan with one..., Had 4 Nissans, only 2 remain...

Don't see how can Nissan market the Maxima when the Altima 2.5/3.5 is the market leader for Nissan. I see way more G37's than Maxima's in my area, and if Nissan push the Maxima then G37 sales will lose out. I think that Nissan need to go back to it's roots with the Maxima as a 4door sports car it was once marketed as.

They tried to bring back 4DSC with the current model before anyone knew anything about it. It was a failure so you don't hear it anymore.

Ya'll niggas find anything to argue about... The reason the Maxima isnt poppin is because Nissan failed with it. There is nothing unique about it. Whos gonna buy a front wheel drive 3.5L "4 door sports car" for 40,000. NOBODY, when you can get a used all-wheel drive M35 for less... Same engine, better interior, and nicer exterior IMO. The Altima has had the same exact engine in it for the past 8 years!!! There isnt anything differing the 2 other than a couple of inches of space!!! Plain and simple one needs to go or be dramatically changed.

Nissan did fail with it. They failed because they wanted the Altima to become the Maxima and the Maxima to become a large sedan like the Avalon. Their first attempt was ugly and did not sell well. People went and got Infinities. Now Nissan doesn't know what to do with it. They tried to go back to the roots of the model and it can't have the performance numbers it needs to have to carry that moniker these days or they will stop selling Infinitys.

The problem is the one I'm sure Toyota is having now. I see many more Avalons than I see a ES or GS Lexus. Too many similar models across both brands.
