It's all relative, just saying that at the top of team sports athletes Basketball players and Soccer players earnings trump all other sports. Lebron and C. Ronaldo have deals with Nike that earns them $30mil+ a year just from that 1 deal alone. Basketball and Top Soccer players just move more merch/product than other team sport athletes, MLB isn't popular with the young folks and has an older demographic mainly so they can't really sell as much product hence the garbage endorsement deals. Creating your own league could be done but it would take ALOT of solidarity and capitol. Without media coverage (who would all conspire not to promote it) and corporate sponsorship it wouldnt be successful. Creating your own shoe or clothing brand is much easier.

It has to start somewhere... Infrastructure's don't just happen. It took the NBA half a century to get to this point so just "starting" a league isn't viable at this moment but it could be 50 years from now.

Clothing and shoe stuff is a smaller mission and can be done with all the access they have now. Now they can just fly to these plants and get the materials and market it and all of that stuff if they put the money into it.. they can do it.
