Nicki Minaj returned with episode 15 of Queen Radio on Beats 1 to kick off the new week on Monday (Aug. 12). The celebratory episode marks the one-year anniversary since the release of Queen and the debut episode of Queen Radio. Instead of Megan Thee Stallion making a guest appearance, The Joe Budden Podcast co-hosts Joe Budden, Rory and Mal joined Minaj in studio to contribute to the radio show.
Budden has had an abrasive relationship with Minaj and her combative Barbz fanbase in the past, and it continued during the episode. Minaj set the record straight on the organic nature of "Hot Girl Summer" coming together after an Instagram Live session with Meg, but Budden believed the IG Live was all part of the track's rollout to increase hype surrounding the record.
The conversation then shifted to the controversy surrounding Nicki Minaj and Cardi B both assisting on the Migos' "MotorSport" single. Minaj even went back and pulled up a clip of Budden from Everyday Struggle to prove he believed that Nicki didn't know Cardi would also be appearing on the record. She also refused to answer when Joe replied with a question of his own, asking if Minaj and Cardi B exchanged shots at each other with their verses on the track.
Nicki fired back at Budden for when he accused Minaj of possibly being on drugs and pills last summer. "Your entire last album did that. Your past is littered with it. Who gives a fuck what she pop? But don't sit here and act like you've never popped a pill," Joe quipped.
"Are you that fucking dumb?" she angrily repeated. "You like tearing down women when they can't defend themselves."
Budden's mic was then cut off, but the interview continued with Mal and Rory. "He's so used to thinking he's the smartest person in the room," Nicki finished.
Following an interview with entertainer Ts Madison, Minaj confirmed that she would be marrying Kenneth "Zoo" Petty within the next 90 days.
