NFL - let's get it ON!!

no preseason, It's here!! damn the pats, they still winning
Any predictions?? Expect the Eagles to own ATL this monday ;)

I saw a couple of "experts" actually picking the Jets to go
to the Super Bowl. I guess they figure New England can't
possibly win this thing again given all the changes in
personnel....Well I am as optimistic as anyone, but I don't
see us winning the AFC....Pennington is kind of shaky and
if he goes down, we go none other than Jay fukkin Feldler
(Incepterverde Part 2) as his backup....I see ALOT of handoffs
in our future....

Pittsburgh should be back in the playoff picture, they have
some injury issues, but Cowher has a good system in place
and he has a "no-ego" type of squad like N.E. has. If Big Ben
can get by the "sophomore jinx", then Pittsburgh should be
in the thick of things with N.E. and N.Y. ----In the west, I can
call it. Who wants it?? I have NO idea. San Diego??

As for Philly, they have a legit shot to win the whole thing as
long as T.O. doesn't start feeling like he's more important
than the whole rest of the team and start with the attention
whoring during the season. The whole NFC is a mystery to me
this year. No clear cut team from either conference, but the
NFC is so muddled up after Philly anyone can win it. Atlanta
seems to be the next up, but you know they'll only go as far
as Vick will take them. Don't like squads who depend on one
guy so much for offense. They never last.....but Vick is hungry
so he might be good for at least one Super Bowl run

Damn!! Time's running out for Mike Holmgren in Seattle

September 11, 2005

>To Seahawks coach

Mike Holmgren</PERSON>, on the occasion of the beginning of his seventh season in Seattle:
>As Tropical Storm Ophelia swirls like a metaphor offshore, to the northeast of the lovely resort that has been the weekend home to your football team, another storm is gathering in <LOCATION>Seattle</LOCATION>.

>Seahawks fans want more out of the Seahawks.
>They want a January to remember. Making the playoffs isn't good enough anymore, especially the way it happened last year with the team stumbling into a home game as unsteady as a deck hand on a storm-tossed whaler.

>The city is tired of broken promises, false Septembers that dissolve in wasted Decembers. False starts that raise false hopes that end in nightmarish playoff losses in January.

>One year

Alex Bannister</PERSON> breaks off a route that leads to an

Al Harris</PERSON> interception and a first-round loss in <LOCATION>Green Bay</LOCATION>. And last season sure-handed

Bobby Engram</PERSON> drops a would-be, game-winning pass and the Hawks lose at home to <LOCATION>St. Louis</LOCATION>.
>Hawks fans are weary of all the losses to the Rams. They're tired of the blown fourth-quarter leads.

>Today

>Seahawks @ <LOCATION>Jacksonville</LOCATION>, <CHRON>10 a.m.</CHRON>, Ch. 13

>Hawks fans are angry, Mike. Surely, you hear them when you jog off the field after a home loss.

>Rebuilding wasn't supposed to be this difficult.

>By now, after six seasons in <LOCATION>Seattle</LOCATION>, you and, more important, the city's football fans expected Super Bowls. You were expected to mold the Seahawks into something akin to what Bill Belichick molded in New England.

>After all, you were Belichick before Belichick.

>In your second and third years in <LOCATION>Green Bay</LOCATION>, you won wild-card playoff games. In your fourth year, you got to the NFC Championship Game and in your fifth year, you won a Super Bowl.

>In <LOCATION>Green Bay</LOCATION>, you experienced a winter wonderland. In <LOCATION>Seattle</LOCATION>, you've experienced winters of discontent. After six seasons, you are a mere four games over .500 and 0-3 in playoff games.

>Now, you get another start. Another season. Another opening. Another big show.

>But once again, you start with a defense as unpredictable as Ophelia.

>You start with a rookie, Lofa Tatapu, at middle linebacker. You open with a second-year defensive tackle,

Marcus Tubbs</PERSON>, who has started all of three games.
>Even you called it a "no-name" defense in last week's news conference. It's as untested as a 2-year-old Thoroughbred and thin as a javelin. Once again, the defense is the great unknown in a season of great expectations, and you're left praying nobody gets hurt.

>Such a great unknown can be exciting. There is nothing more compelling than a good mystery. But it's also as dangerous as tightrope-walking across Qwest Field without a net.

>This is another season of ifs.

>What if Marcus Trufant can return to the injury-free cover corner he was in his rookie season of 2003? What if defensive end Grant Wistrom, who injured his knee in mid-October of last season, returns to give the Seahawks a full season of a pass rush?

>What if linebacker D.D. Lewis' shoulder really is repaired and he can begin to put together the kind of season that was expected from him two years ago? And what if safety

Michael Boulware</PERSON> really is ready for stardom?
>This season will open today in <LOCATION>Jacksonville</LOCATION> with your defensive coordinator

Ray Rhodes</PERSON>, back in <LOCATION>Seattle</LOCATION>, recovering from recurring dizzy spells. The lack of defensive success has taken a toll on Rhodes, who takes broken coverages and missed tackles personally.
>Rhodes' health and the hope for a full recovery will be on all of our minds today. But after six seasons, all of which ended in disappointment, there can be no excuses this year.

>It's winning time.

>You keep telling us at the end of every season that the franchise is taking steps forward. But compare your steps to New England's or Philadelphia's.

>It's winning time. No more epidemic of dropped passes. No more disappearing double-digit fourth-quarter leads. No more Januarys that end with a chilly whimper.

>It's time, Mike, to turn <LOCATION>Seattle</LOCATION> into your next <LOCATION>Green Bay</LOCATION>.

>In fact, it's past time. And the storm in <LOCATION>Seattle</LOCATION> is building.

>Steve Kelley: 206-464-2176 or skelley@seattletimes.com.

No need being tentative about your Jets. They got the 'D' and seem to be getting the 'O' together. Give Pennington a full season (I don't see another Rex Grossman) and I can see the jets being there.
Hell, the 'experts' say it's Indy's turn, but they don't play good enuff 'D' for me and I don't expect Manning to put up the career numbers he did last year. Don't get me wrong, he's got it clicking. Isn't it strange to think of Dungy with a team not considered to have great defense. Congrats to Dungy for getting a 3 yr extension.
I think Philly will have a good year in spite of looking like shit on national tv last night. I really don't think Trotter getting thrown out made much of a dif - hell, I had him benched anyway in fantasy (like that's making a dif for me - sheesh).

BTW - another reason for Seahawks fans to be mad @ Holmgren...Shaun Alexander not winning rushing title by 1 yd last year by essentially being benched by the coach....

Well, my Vikings look like ass... once again, our bullshit coaching personnel made some terrific moves and turned us into a rebuilding team... at least, that's what they looked like Sunday. If Daunte could have not turned over the ball 5 times, we might have had a chance to win it.

All this bullshit that they thought we would be a better team without Moss is killing me. Moss is a distraction you put up with, not send to another team.

Right now, in the NFC North, I see the Lions (man, I can't believe I typed that). Overall, I don't know. I don't like the Pats, but I think that's more personal than anything, lol. Indy's defense actually looked pretty good, but then again they were playing the Raven's offense, so it's hard to really say.

I don't think the Vikings will ever have a great season with Tice as the Head Coach. They should have gotten rid of him when they had the chance.

Let's see the Jets damn the JETS! My team is searching right now b/c Chad "Spaghetti arm" Pennington can't complete half a circle with a protractor and I've been saying his arm strength is trash. Anyway we have defense, yea well not the way we looked against the Chiefs, LARRY FUCKING JOHNSON HAD 108 yds rushing so I'm not sure if we have a good run or pass D.... I think the Colts will take it this yr in the AFC south, Manning has a lil bit more help on defense. who the hell is going to stop Dwight Freeny but injuries, he had Ogden all nervous and shit. With the addition of Simon things are looking real good. their DB's are what's real suspect. As long as NE protects Tom Brady they're in the game and most likely winning. I gained even more respect when I saw him dissect the Raiders with that 5wr formation. He might be on Manning's level of mentality. Amazing! The Giants might be a sleeper team if they can keep their focus... the seahawks are cursed.. lemme stop typing.. my picks..
NFC
east-Eagles
north-Minn (they'll rebound but Chi-Town might make noise)
South-Atl
West-St. Louis

ditto

2 times, same bullshit, except I now see that the Lions don't want the NFC north, either, so Chicago will get it by default. I was joking with my friend from Detroit, and we predicted that the score of the Lions/Vikings game will be 4-4

think on that....

How bad is Joey Harrington, what a fucking BUM! Kyle Boller is probably glad he got hurt AGAIN b/c his bitch ass would have eventually been benched... Minn is horrible, I never liked Culpepper's decision making... but I still think they have talent enough to win that weak ass division....Raiders got nan D!

talkin' about fukkin bums, How in the hell does Dave Wannstedt get to fukk up another team? Excuse for drifting away from NFL for a minute, but how does he keep a job? I've watched him destroy the Bears, then go destroy the Dolphins making run Ricky run flee the country ;) and then he goes to Pitt...
'THIS WEEK'S GAME: Youngstown State at Pittsburgh, Sept. 24 -- The Panthers return home after two tough road defeats. This is the first time Pittsburgh has been 0-3 since 1984.'....yeah they squashed Youngstown, but weren't they supposed to??? okay, back to the NFL...

Is Pitt/NE really the game of the week? I hope NE gets squashed!!
Chiefs @ Broncos Mon nite should be a good game
will jags @ jets be a high scoring affair :)
I'd like to see TB waltz into lambeau and put the smack down!
who will get more yards? T.O. or Moss

Don't know whether to be happy or sad about this
Yeah we might've lost our QB, but at least it happen
early enough in the season to make an adjustment
I only hope Fiedler is right behind Pennington, or
else we have NO chance of going anywhere:

NEW YORK (AP) -- Jets quarterback Chad Pennington will miss the rest of the season because of a torn right rotator cuff, The Associated Press learned Monday night.

Pennington's injury was confirmed by a person with knowledge of his condition, but who declined to be identified because the team had not made an official announcement.

An MRI exam showed Pennington tore his rotator cuff in Sunday's 26-20 overtime loss to Jacksonville. The NFL Network originally reported the injury, the second time Pennington has had this tear in less than a year.

Pennington was expected to visit noted orthopedist Dr. James Andrews in Alabama on Tuesday.

Man I'll be honest, I didn't think we had a chance with Pennington in the lineup, he just didn't have the arm in my opinion and that was pre surgery . I'd say Fiedler is better, fuk it I said it.. But now he's hurt too, so we've got Brooks Bollinger from QB university "Wisconsin" :smh: , yup we're fucked, let's see if the defense can score touchdowns for us.... They better simplify the reads and throws for Ole Brooks if not it's going to be a long season...Where's Vinny when you need him....

On another note did yall catch that LSU vs Tenessee game, Great game, but the Tenessee coach should be hit with a hanging on Erik Ainge's nuts fine, All for this Ainge kat the Coach ran out this other QB can't remember his name, who is now at a Juco, and had that Clausen kid on the bench who played his ass off.. LMAO @ Dave "Did I fuck up Again" Wandstedt

Jets agree to terms with Testaverde NFL.com wire reports

Vinny signed

Look at that the Jets went after Vinny....... This is a solid move, hope that he can still air it out. But who's going to protect him..

The problem for the Jets is not whose throwing the ball.
It's that they are getting KILLED on the line of scrimmage.
I knew this when Herm got the job and Parcells (and his
coaches) left, that the level of OL play was gonna go down
But it's downright disgusting these days. And while Herm
Edwards is my man at the coach, he needs to get in touch
with Parcells about some good OL coaches. As we see now
we took Romeo Crennel for granted. But the Jets have had
deteriorating line play for years now. Jason Fabini, once
Bill Parcells golden boy, is now a joke on that line. Even
Kevin Mawae is playing WAAAAAAY, WAAAAAAAAY below
his All Pro level. At times, I'm wondering who the fuck that
is at center until I see number 68. I can't believe my eyes.

You can have LT at RB. You can have Randy Moss and TO
catching passes. You can have Joe Namath throwing them
It won't matter if your OL can keep people out of the back
field. As Parcells tells his teams wherever he goes....the
game is won or lost on the line of scrimmage. Control the
line of scrimmage and you control the game.

NNNNNOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!
As a coach yes, as a player???
We need to move on to the future
instead of dwelling on the past.
next you know, they'll put Chrebet
back into the starting lineup
then we won't even score 10 pts

I hear you on the offensive line, 2QBs knocked out in 1 game, that's a serious problem that should be obvious like a mofuka... But if not Vinny then Who?? give up on the season???

I actually have a little faith in Brooks Bollinger. I would rather have
him in the pocket than Vinnie. Nothing against him, but I just haven't
got the patience for his same old mistakes. I can deal with a new
and some fresh ones. btw, Herm just switched Fabini and RT Adrian
Jones around which is NOT a good thing. The worse thing you can
do with your OL is tinker with the chemistry. You either bench the
probelm dude or stick with it. You don't wanna be having to find out
what a player can do at this point......especially with Baltimore on
the horizon....If Bollinger survives this next game, he should be
alright

News
Jason Fabini has been switched from left tackle to right, and right tackle Adrian Jones will now play in Fabini's spot on the left. Fabini is suffering from a knee injury and may not even play on Sunday against the Ravens. He would be replaced by veteran Scott Gragg on the right side.

Views
The change likely results from the fact the struggling Fabini has allowed three sacks already this season, and Herm Edwards would rather have the more competent Jones protecting his quarterback's blind side. Perhaps this switch will also spark the Jets moribund running game, but we're not banking on a big day from any Jets this weekend against the Ravens.

yeah, yeah I am a day late  , but I am surprised that brittle mofo went down again. I look at him like his cousin in CHI... not the greatest, but a leader that had the potential to get the job done and lead the team. I know nothing about Bollinger, but NEVER was a fan of TestaTURDY :puke:

what a w/e...Eagles got bitch-slapped all game long; Jets beat Tampa; GB put up 52?? WTF?

Whats up dentskin,

Man I am so fucking pissed at fat ass slopy walruss looking andy reid. That fat mothafucka must think he is mike martz lil brotha, I mean this bitch is calling passing plays every down.

Shit Mcnabb is hurt and this fat bastard won't run to protect his ass. Plus teams won't even play the Eagles honest cuase andy passes 70% of the time. I saw this shit last year as you might recall, I stated that I didn't like the fact that reid was calling so many passes and that it would eventually hurt the team. I beleive it did in the super bowl when only 15 rushes were called to 51 passes. Ain't nobody winning a super bowl game passing 51 times in it. This ain't arena football or the CFL.

The offense was more balanced before T.O. but it seems ever since T.O. came fat ass reid wnats to pass every play. Then when his dumb ass had the chance to draft a running back he picked that guard out of arkansas instead of steven jackson. Could you imagine steven jackson with mcnabb and T.O. They probably would have won the superbowl last year with Steven Jackson. Maybe not dumb ass reid would have still passed 51 times in the game. Even if Jackson was a 2,000 yard rusher.

I hate to say it but the eagles will never win a super bowl with reid calling the plays, that fool is too fucking pass happy. I was hoping that the broncos would have a bad year and that shanahan would get fired so maybe he could take reids place. Shit at least he is an offensive coach that believes in sticking with the running game.

Plus with all the injuries to the DL and Mcnabb you would think that reid would run the ball to protect Mcnabb and the Defense. Shit the eagles are damn near last in the league in time of possesion and first in the league in 3 and outs cause andy passes so much.

I have watched every eagles game this year except the KC game and have shooked my head cause andy won't run the ball. Shit they would have probably beat atlanta if he would have ran the ball to make the ATL defense play honest and not pin their ears back every play cause they new it was a run.

Hell the fucking reason Mcnabb is hurt this year is because andy has passed so much leaving mcnabb open to hits. Shit in the ATL game reid kept going 4 wide with WR running streaks and deep routes leaving his tackles with no help with kerney and smith on the outside. Causing mcnabb to hold the ball along time on deep routes and getting hit.

I hate that fat pass happy bastard reid. I hope they ban all super size meals at fast food chains in philly, so that fat piece of shit can't eat his mcdonalds/burger king super combos.

Hope that fat mothafuck chokes on a philly cheese steak.

Run the ball you fat bastard reid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

 funny shit!
I am pissed that he didn't sit McNabb earlier... they had nothing going so they should had thrown in the flag earlier to let McNabb get some rest before the bye and let Detmer 'catch some heat'...hell yeah they need to run the ball more...but with injuries to Buckhalter and Reid working the money (10 mil under the cap), he didn't try to bring no one in to do any running. :smh: Westbrook can't carry that type of load. Maybe they'll figure something out 'cause they ain't as good as last year and until they realize that and make adjustments, they won't go far. The D sucks! They didn't realize or didn't want to pay Corey Simon for the job he was doing pancaking mofos and squeezin' shit so that Trotter could make plays... now we got to hear about INDY's D... ain't that some shit! :puke:

Eagles got dominated in the trenches
Jets OL FINALLY had a decent game
Aaron Brooks is the Anti-christ

you're right the Eagles offensive line got manhandled. That's what makes football unlike no other sport IMO, you truly don't know what's going to happen. I don't think anyone thought Dallas had a chance. Andy Reid is fucking up his playcalling but in that Dallas game I don't think he had too much time to set anything up evenly. I went upstairs and got some soda and it was already 17-0 WTF! Funny thing is they had an animal at running back in DEUCE and refused to pay him! Now they've got a versatile back who may not be able to carry the load, yet doesn't need to in order for them to win in Westbrook, picture them going after Ricky Williams, which I don't see, but I think Chester Taylor is a free agent after this season and he's got skillzzzzzzzz... LOL @ Brooks the Anti Christ.. How bout them Jets, Vinny still can produce, I thought the Jets were gonna drop some pts the way Vinny came out throwing but either way it's a win. Shanahan hasn't had a real QB since Elway so he has had to stick to the run more, although He is a true believer of that running game, damn how many running backs has he made Stars out of! Clarett's an idiot.... WTF is wrong with the Ravens defense??? You got younger kats like Kevin Jones mocking ole Ray Ray :smh: , get that 4-6 bullshit out of here, I think that's the most points the Lions dropped all season.and they suck  .... McCown is balling out in Arizona...

What Coach would you fire first Jim Haslett (saints) or Mike Tice (Vikes)?

Yeah, I thought it was funny about the Reid statements last time, but now I am MORE mad  after watching this game! We (EAGLES FANS) were lucky to win this game today. I CANNOT BELIEVE ALL THE PASSES THAT WERE THROWN TODAY EVEN WHEN WE HAD THE LEAD :smh:
I was not impressed that McNabb took Randall's passing completion record :hmm: when this was a game where it should have been handed off more. Hell, I had to miss the end of the game for the start of the Chi game because all them passes didn't take time off the clock...!#@!@#$

Hate to say "I told you so".......but

Now there's buzz about Bollinger starting again
Management crying about there's nobody available
what they mean is that....there's nobody white available
I would rather pull some young, hungry QB off the scrap
heap, than pull some old retired cat out the rocking chair
(even though that doesn't really apply to Vinnie)

Or maybe we are trying to lose....so we can get a shot
at Matt Leinhart, lol

Thats why I say that the eagles will never win a superbowl with andy reid. Shit heart less ass Martz is gone. Now if we can only get rid of andy then the league will be free of all the pass happy coaches. Bitches need to coach canadien football with all that pass happy shit.

Shit I don't even think that the eagles will even make the playoffs at the rate they are going now. Ain't no way they make the playoffs passing 70% of the time and with an injured mcnabb. Plus with andy not sticking with the run and Mcnabb not being able to throw deep because of his injuries. You can see the defensive secondary creeping closer to the line and jumping all the short routes. On top of that the secondary, LBs and DL don't even respect play action. They play pass everytime.

If reid doesn't run the ball or do more max protection during passing plays in Denver, Mcnabb make be coming off the field on a strecher. Cause denver DL is playing well, you see how they were knocking the shit out of retarded/down syndrome looking Eli last week.

Anyway if fat ass reid doesn't run the ball this week kats in philly need to hang his ass from the highest tree they can find.
