Ah, technically, that would have been Joey Dee & The Starglighters or Little Richard. The Isley's hired him after he'd been fired by Richard and decided to move to New York.

What you should say is that Ernie Isley was still in highschool when he learned from one of his brothers' sidemen who was staying in the family home, "Maurice James" aka Jimi Hendrix - who, by the way, learned how to play with his teeth on the Chitling Circuit in Tennessee and Kentucky between 1962 when he got out of the army and 1965 when he got to New York.

Yup. And do you know how many peple don't even realize JImi played with the Isley Brothers and taught Ernie how to play with his teeth? Had this discussion in the Does anyone here play the guitar thread.
