I hope so. Clowney gonna fuck around and get Reese fired. Whoever gets that #1 pick and wastes it on Clowney will be putting their job on the line.Meanwhile, Clowney over here milking injuries and not even having a good college season.
I'll never get the Clowney lovefest but shit i'm the only one. He seems to be a consensus top 5 pick and most got him going #1.
i will join you in that.
he ain't the first can't miss player playing a junior season before they can go to the draft..
but the way he handling it.. i don't know about that.

Me 3!
Can anyone say shades of Jamarcus Russell?!?![]()
Yea man.....I guess they're in love with his measurables man but shit.....I don't get the lovefest but if someone wants to waste a early pick on him I hope its a team in the NFC East. I can already see it now this dude gonna get a GM Fired. I like Reese one of the few brothas as a GM but if he picks Clowney he's putting his job on the line. Anybody who drafts him with anything lower than a 6th overall pick is putting their job on the line.
yea he's a top 10 pick for sure. #1 overall though as a pass rusher i do not know and that ain't got nothing to do with shitting on his talent cause he's clearly talented.
stakes were high coming in and its looking like he had a few bad games and was officially out of the heisman and just shut himself down.
fuck Clowney, get Bridgewater.
That type of person scares the shit out of me to risk my job on.
Teams are running away from Clowney..
and sometimes double and triple teaming him...
You put that boy with another pass rusher... A guy like... JPP...
Either he's gonna have a good year... OR... JPP is gonna have a good year...
I'm sorry... BUT I WANT HIM ON MY GIANTS ROSTER...
Especially now that Tuck has fallen off... We can definitely use CLOWNEY....![]()
it'll be more than just getting him if you lose your job he won't be the deciding factor. straight up the consensus is that he's a top pick, you make the pick it don't pan out no harm no foul cause presumably everyone in your position would have done the same.
i don't think any teams are running away from clowney i just think its too early in the season for teams to be discussing it.
for sure there are a whole lot of teams who want him.. however of the teams that might end up at the bottom how many will need them?
if the jags get the #1 they need a franchise qb so they're going teddy..
if you go #1 you feel you have your franchise qb and can wait 2 more years to get jamison so you take clowney, it really just comes down to that.
as far as production in the nfl. if he's just gonna be a straight de we gotta see how he does against the run. that's how you make your money.
shit aldon smith couldn't get on the field until he learned how to set the edge and stuff the run.. he could always rush the passer.
we'll see
Watching SC games this year... Teams are running away from him... and double teaming him a lot... but you know else is happening... The OTHER D-linemen are stepping up... which says to me that his presence has helped that d-line...it'll be more than just getting him if you lose your job he won't be the deciding factor. straight up the consensus is that he's a top pick, you make the pick it don't pan out no harm no foul cause presumably everyone in your position would have done the same.

Why are you comparing him to QBs...Naw I disagree. If Reese drafts Clowney and they got the 1st pick? And he's a bust after 2 or 3 years? Reese will be fired. Any GM that takes him lower than the 6th overall pick. Because all the signs are there. Yea he's the consensus top pick in the draft but so was Alex Smith. So was Tim Couch. So was Jamarcus Russell and David Carr.
When Reese makes the pick nobody will care. It will be the right pick. But if he flops and busts? Man they gonna run him out of town like they doing Coughlin and Eli right now.

The OTHER D-linemen are stepping up... which says to me that his presence has helped that d-line...Now... I will say this... SC has some other guys on that line that can play too... BUT... overall... I do agree with your point... 100%
Why are you comparing him to QBs...
Clowney isn't gonna have weight of the franchise on his back like a QB does... Especially if he goes to a team with a PROVEN DE playing on the other side like us...
He would fit in nicely with our defense...
... AND... Eli and Coughlin will get at least ONE more year to prove themselves before they get run out of town... The MARAS NEVER... EVER... buckle to media pressure... They will never have... and they never will..
I'm comparing him to QB's because ain't nobody took a defensive linemen or linebacker with the top pick since......Mario Williams? Before him Courtney Brown? You can't really compare him to too many guys. He's a rare talent. I won't deny that. But with the lack of college success this year and the questionable behavior he has going on in college by sitting out games.....too much off the field shit for me. On some Brian Bosworth type shit.......alright maybe not to that extent but crazy shit nonetheless.
And IMO, pressure is pressure. QB or not. You are the top pick of your team. Atleast if you're a QB you may sit on the bench. If ya'll were to take Bridgwater he's not starting immediately. He's gonna be backing up Eli. Clowney ain't nobody's back up. He's gonna be starting off at the gate. I'd say he'd have more pressure.
