New Poster for Jordan Peele's Nope (July 22, 2022) - Daniel Kaluuya, Keke Palmer, Steven Yeun

Lmaoooo

Nobody talks about “us”… after a week of being fake intrigued by that flick people threw away that memory of that film into the back of their mind forever…hopefully nope is nothing like us

No one wants to admit this is kinda true.

But lupita performance in that film was legendary

That ain't up for debate.

It's like the 2nd season of the wire for many.

Which I actually defend to the dearh

I want to argue this but I really can't.

But imagine never seeing the Predator?

Alien?

Tremors?

The Thing?

ET?

Independence Day?

Slither?

Now I actually think I disagree
I get it but I honestly think that the mind is better at having that image of what an alien looks like because it leans more on your fears... so no matter what they come up with it'll never compare to what you are scared of and what's in your mind...

Like that movie SIGNS... that M. Knight cat... I loved that movie UP UNTIL THE ALIEN WAS STANDING FACE TO FACE with the lead character...

So take all those movies, the supposedly SCARY ones not the hokey ones like ET and Tremors or The Thing, and think of how much scarier that shit would have been had they only shown glimpses of the alien or left out up to you and your imagination to create this monster that was terrifying these people...

So take all those movies, besides ET because that's a kid movie, and think of how much scarier that shit would have been had they only shown glimpses of the alien or left out up to you and your imagination to create this monster that was terrifying these people...

I actually agree with your point but so much of that is really up to the quality of director cinematography editing and special effects.

The barely showed Jaws not by Design but by necessity

It all depends on the execution

Ripley getting kissed by the double mouth alien is one of the most iconic moments on film.

The final scene of blood Beach

I think it all depends if done judiciously?

It's all good

That movie was dumb as fuck... I think that was more about them going crazy than an actual "boogeyman"

The movie us = the woman
my brain = the 2 guys
black hole of forgotten memories= the river

There is a deleted scene where they talked about a cult for the Blair Witch. Going deeper into that and the witch would have been great but they fucked that up.
