Most blacks that were able to server in WW2 were stuck with manual labor jobs and the ones that were able to actually fight, were segregated even in the war by the military, and were almost all given the extremely high risk "suicide" like missions because they were looked at as disposable. They weren't treated right in the war by their own country and then had to come home to continued segregation and Jim Crow.
