Adam Sandler shared a first teaser for 'Happy Gilmore 2,' which includes a graveyard face-off with old rival Shooter McGavin and reveals Travis Kelce's role in the sequel film.
The worst part about these unnecessary & years too late sequels is that the 1st one was very much a product of its time.
Most comedies are that way & most people aren't laughing at the same things in 95' & 2025. Most people's comedic senses have matured over the last 30 years and a lot of the original's jokes are cringe/ offensive now.

The original should stay as a stand alone film.
Adam is too old to try and revive that character.
Similar to how Eddie Murphy looked in “Beverly Hills Cop 4”.
I've only seen a few minutes of Happy Gilmore and Billy Madison respectively.
Should be interesting to see how well it's received.
Not sure why it took practically 30 years for the sequel.

I eventually saw dumb and dumber in like the 2010s… but I do fuck with some over the top shit like married with children( which was made by a Blackman), kingpin, something about Mary, me myself and Irene… I actually thought big daddy was ok but still til this day never seen happy Gilmore, the water boy, lil Nicky ( never will), Billy Madison… only joints I seen by him was big daddy, longest yard, grownups 1 and 2, I think something else
Oh I fucks with white shows. Got a tv in my office, literally had married with children on today. Started from the 1st episode couple weeks ago. Alternate between that fresh prince and a couple other shows daily.
I saw water boy probably when it came out so I was a teen. It was cool at the time. Big daddy was funny.
Yeah, was never big on Jim Carey or Adam Sandler as a fan

I don't wanna derail the thread but this has been coming up at a LOT of functions I been to this summer.
I don't think it HELPS Hollywood revealing these budgets. Never has never will.
For a couple reasons, first we don't NEED to know. Just because something was expensive doesn't make it good or bad. We KNOW this. And it aint OUTR money anyway. It has no effect on US really. People are going to say ticket prices and streaming etc etc that aint really effecting that over some box office flop.
And trust me Hollywood math & accounting would make Einstein Issac Asimov and Stephen Hawking go into elliptic fits.
Okay with ALL that being said?
THAT IS F*CKING ABSURD amount on money for damn near ANY movie but especially a COMEDY?
Now these budgets DO effect OTHER projects that potentially can't get done because of huge time and money wasters like this (especially from Black folk and women creators) but I also understand these projects literally feed HUNDREDS of families.
And it STIL doesn't explain WHY THE F**K this movie cost that much.
But I aint blaming Sandler. Netflix signed off on ALL THIS.
I don't want to hear Netflix cry poverty ANY time soon.
And also tell me they don't have money for BLACK LED projects the next few cycles.
I'm glad they're transparent. That's how they can justify tax breaks to the public.
