Trailer>>>>>> movie
It was ok , probably will make good money, something to watch at the crib, does it have rewatchable value idk
They overhyped barbarian , this movie was aite
Barbarian wasn’t all that good to me… some hills have eyes meet people under the stairs bullshit.. this movie had horror elements, but like a pulp fiction thriller type… even your fave podcast said the movie was good but it wasn’t their fave movie of the yr or top 5-10 horror flicks and it’s 1 of those why flicks in the end or it didn’t keep the same rules all the wayWow, you are very particular when it comes to horror. That's not my favorite genre so I defer.
I did think they kinda over hyped it but its extremely well done. And same for Barbarian.

Lol.. nah the old looking cac that's part of his podcast made a solid point on exactly what I felt after seeing the movie.. he to was hyped by the trailer and really wanted to watch the film.. he liked it overallf**k a podcast opinion bro
I got yours I'm good.

YeahOh you talking about Rob on the Campea show?
Yeah
People are easily amused these days and also kinda like followers.. see barbarian or they come out at night .. both these movies were over hyped that I didn't get to see until this yr and I was like were these the same movies people were saying were great.. Blair witch project takes me back to when the over hyped machine took over for movies that were garbage to blah.. like I said weapons was ok , it was something to watch, great trailer, great intro, the whole diff view points cool, the twist and the ending ehhh.. I'd watch the movie identity over thisI'm glad you mentioned that. I was genuienelyy shocked. Because Rob been hyping THAT specific movie for almost a YEAR. He read the script MAD early (yet never mentioned ANY issues withit till noww. When he says well I ALWAYS saw that issue, I just thoaut tht they would FIX it by then...yeah okay)
ALL the criticism was fair. And don't really matter to me cause ALL this sh*t is subjective ESPECIALLY Horror and Comedy.
But what gets me is this movie almost did the impossible with a 100% on Rotten Tomatoes (the validity of all that aside for the sake of this discussion)
So ALL those critics were WRONG?

Told you the trailer was hot.. the kids running out the apt with the lil girl telling you the backstory literally is a trailer masterpiece.. you automatically want to see wtf is going on right after seeing that segment.. there is no person who I sent that trailer to that wasn’t like man I need to see this..guys and girls.. than when they released another trailer and you see the actors in it you really like I want to see it.. I was like this movie gonna make money if enough people see this trailer… now will the execution of the movie live off the hype I had when I seen the trailer.. for the way they executed it a lot of people will like it or think it was a decent film.. me it was cool but the full effect of me going yes this was a masterpiece nah.. but I could tell people hey there’s a movie if you didn’t see it you can go watch itI hear you but it aint that simple I heard Weapons was supposed to be hot BEFORE wide release. And people loves it THEN an NOW.
I'm not saying everyone isn't entitled to their own opinions or that i can't be wrong.
But that one in particular is fascinating because for CERTAIN movies people/critics will let a whole lot of issues go - just BECAUSE. ANd rip apart another movie of the same quality for the same flaws.
It could all be subjectivity. I get that.
And I'm also a hypocrite because I hate fake contrarians who hate on something JUST BECAUSE everyone likes it.
You never know what's REAL.
social media made opinion so worthless.
PRAISE: Writer and Director Zach Cregger takes one of the most haunting and sad things that can happen to a parent or family a child or children completely vanishing off the face of the Earth and builds on that to craft a haunting story. Where did they go? Who or if anyone was involved? These questions were played with throughout the film, which made it involving and then some. A great job is done with multiple character stories including great as usual Julia Garner portraying Justine Gandy, the teacher who's seventeen students just ran off into the night at 2:17 A.M. Garner channels a bit of her character from the series Ozark Ruth, which i didn't mind at all. Then there's Archer Graff (Josh Brolin), the devastated father of one of the missing children. A cop named Paul (Alden Ehrenreich), a junkie named Anthony (Austin Abrams), school principal named Andrew (Benedict Wong) and last but not least Alex (Cary Christopher) who's the only one in his class who didn't run off into darkness. Amy Madigan completely immersed herself into her role as Aunt Gladys. I completely understood what the characters were going through and why they took certain actions. How fear and love can play on the aforementioned actions even limiting what a person can do,this was done so well in the movie. Praise to everyone behind the makeup work. It just made some frightening scenes more intense. In fact I didn't know whether to laugh or be scared at what was happening on screen several times. There are a handful of jump scares. When the music played in certain scenes with absolutely no other sound as dark images danced across the screen it was incredible to take in. Even as the movie entered it's last thirty minutes I was still uncertain about why things were happening. What was the backstory of a particular standout character.Still there's this fairy tale like vibe in the movie which i enjoyed. Cregger doesn't hold back on certain things involving younger characters which I admired.
PROBLEMS: Some story threads were a bit to ambiguous for me.Sure it made me become more involved and maybe Cregger wanted audiences to come up with their own theories but i wanted more of an explanation especially after a character enters the movie. The pacing could have been better. One moment was predictable.
Scale of 1 to 10 a 7½
I left the movie thinking the same thing about "an explanation especially after a character enters the movie."PROBLEMS: Some story threads were a bit to ambiguous for me. Totally agree. I left the theatre thinking the same exact thing.but i wanted more of an explanation especially after a character enters the movie.
