Jordan Peele is the producer of the film not director. That makes a huge difference in how the film turns out as a final cut or product.
Same thing with the last terminator movie. James Cameron I believe was the producer not director. Again big difference in how the last terminator came out as the final product when it hit theaters. Studios will attach industry names that have their own following to a film to draw or garner attraction even when their not the one sitting behind the directors chair or seat.

The original script for "Him," then titled "GOAT," ended just with the characters that would later become Isaiah and Cam talking, and Isaiah revealing a deal-with-the-devil type ritual that made him impervious to injury that allowed him to be the goat. Cam, though reluctantly at first, ultimately agrees and does the ritual himself, becoming a star quarterback while Isaiah gets to finally live a life surrounded by friends, family, and junk food he stopped eating years prior.

Jordan's name is at the top of all the posters so even if he didn't direct it he put his stamp on it.
I'm seeing tons of negative reviews so I look at them side-eyed. Probably has more to do with Peele's name being associated with it.
Cinematography was dope. The X-ray scenes were dope. Storyline was alright. There could have been more violence throughout the movie in my opinion. This is more thriller than horror. The last 10 minutes didn't really make any sense. Yes I got it and I understand why they ended it that way.
Could have been great if the two actors, especially the young QB went harder, when the scenes called for max aggression. Marlon was giving it up
, but the young dude didn't match him scene for scene.
The young QB played the scenes too suave and cool, versus going full off the richter scale psychotic, throughout the movie. I just didn't believe him.
Poole needs a GREAT movie on his next release . Take your time brother. Don't put your name on another mid production.

Agree with everything here except that in the final showdown with Marlon he actually did bring the intensity. You could see it in his eyes. It was better sound and cinematography than most so to me that brought the movie above mid.
