I'm selling a Silver 2000 BMW 528i with 87,000 miles for $11,800 which is the BGOL price. On 12/28 it hits ebay with a reserve of $12,800.

It's available for pick-up in the MD/DC area.
 
I almost bought the 2000 BM2 528i a couple of years ago. However, the car salesman didn't know that he was dealing with a savvy negotiator. I did all my research on the vehicle and I know how the car salesmen tack on their commission etc... His focus was to earn his commission. My focus was to get a nice car and not let him deceive me. :smh: :smh: Needless to say, it was no deal for him :smh: :smh: So I went elsewhere and got it at the price I wanted :yes: :yes: :yes:

That's way below that market price. What's the catch? Has it been in an accident? How many miles are on it 187,000?

87,000 miles in 5 years damn where the hell did the original owner drive that a lot of miles in 5 years.. but then again i remmeber i got my toyota corolla with 26,000 and it at 178,000 miles and i got the car in may 1997 and it jan 2006 do the math lol

but real1 mr jones got a point.. is this a hot ass car? lol i aint madatcha but dontcha think ya coulda got more moolah?

Ok Let me address questions:


1)This miles seem high but they are not as high as you think. A 2000 vehicle should have 72,000 miles on it. This one has 88,000. The excess milage has deducted about $1,200 from the value of the car.

2)There is no catch, no accidents, price is not a typo. As a private party seller, the car should sell for $13,500 - $14,000 (source is emdunds.com) Kelley Blue Book isn't that realiable when it comes to pricing. Almost EVERYONE sells a car below Blue Book. Why? Because they are nice guys?! No, because the market doesn't/isn't willing to play Blue Book in many cases. Also, the 3 pricing levels are Trade-In, Private Party, and Retail. I buy below trade in and sell at Private Party. I don't have lot, so I likely won't get Retail. If I buy hoping to get retail, I will be waiting for a long time and will probably never get it, unless I have a lot.

3)I didn't buy this car, or the 99 Range Rover, or the 97 Jaguar XJ6 at the auction. I couldn't have gotten deal this good at the auction. I bought these cars from the newspaper, from private owners. I looked at prices that were already close to trade in to begin with, and worked them down from there. The majority of people at the auction have car lots, they can pay a little bit ABOVE trade in and sell it for a little bit below retail. If I buy above trade-in value, then I am in trouble and am just looking to make a couple of hundred dollars (not worth the trouble). I've lost money or virtually broken even on EVERY car that I bought from the auction! Isn't that some shit. Of course I will buy better the next time I go to the auction.


Once it's sold........I will revel how much I paid for it. :yes:
 
Real1 you've really schooled me on the used car trade... thanks and I am defintely got my eyes on some old school cars later on this year.. I'm starting to be friends with some Senior Seniors bka Baby Boomers.. cuz some of these folks got some nice vintage cars in pristine showroom condition and selling below the dollars...Props to you.. and thanks for giving us the BGOL discount......

Ok, the transaction is a wrap. We paid $10,900 for this car and sold it for......are you ready.......drum roll.............$12,750. Not bad, I thought it would have got up to $13,000 or little more, but I'm happy and am already looking at other inventory including a 1996 Benz S500 Coupe (Big Body)with the AMG package with 78,000 miles. We are looking at an acquisition price of $9,900 and would try to sell for $12,500 - $13,000.
 
Good luck man. Sounds like a nice hustle/business venture.. I hate the word hustle.. it is not dignified.
