What is Vanguard Princess?

Vanguard Princess is a FULLY FREEWARE Doujin (Homebrew/Indie) 2D fighting game created by a single guy called Sugeno. The full game was released on June 30 2009. The style of the game is a wacky combination between "old skool mechanism" and assist support, all combined with the "all-loved by SRK" characters ANIME! VP was created on Fighting Maker 2nd, a Japanese "fighting engine" with a lot of support and possibilities. You can read the Readme.txt of the game translated to English here.

Indeed! This game got a lot of attention because of his pretty high detailed sprite work and backgrounds. According to a good source of digging up information, Sugeno the game's lone creator, was supposedly an ex-Capcom employee. This hasn’t confirmed yet though.

I'm not up on my games and I don't have a console - how does this compare to Tekken/Mortal Combat? I watched the vid and it looks pretty close to the two games I like but do you have to have hands like a piano player to execute decent moves on this?

Im a old school gamer so 2D fighters my shit! 3d fighters are just so fucking boring last 3d fighter i played was tekken tag the rest are pretty much trash.

Now as for this game its called Vanguard Princess that explains all the Japanima bitches its kinda fluffy n softcore but still with that being said i think its a pretty solid game. Combo's are easy to pull off looks good but it would have been nice if it had better characters
