New Beyonce video - Formation

understood

and it aint a rant you make a solid argument.

but he fact she performed the song at the SUPER BOWL making an X on the field...

I can't pick that nit especially with the unmitigated TRASH that is considered music nowadays having NO value on either end.

But you are right...but I don;t think they asking J Cole or Kendrick to perform anytime soon...

Just a thought though...

has Drake EVER made a "black pride, positive song" ever?

I'm so lost with people saying the lyrics don't match the words. The song is about being a carefree Black woman, which in itself, is an act of rebellion in this hateful ass society. She's letting us know who she is at her core. From the hot sauce in her bag line, to coming at people with that Illuminati bullshit, to clapping back at those who've criticized her daughter's hair, and her husband's features. Even the Red Lobster line is an ode to being black and hood/country. It all fits.

real talk, never been a beyonce fan but I like the video and the sentiments behind it...she definitely earned more of my respect with this video and the direction she took with her last album...

She can get my record played on the radio *and* I get some Red Lobster if I hit it right?!!? Where do I sign up? Laissez les bons temps rouler.

LMAO Vous avez stupide. C'est drôle! Elle est belle, though! Jay-z est une chanceux foutre homme! J'amerais foutre dans une min!

Den nuh muss!!! Gen kèk frè te anseye Beyoncé yon kèk kreyòl fraz yon kèk mwa de sa. Mwen ka ba l 'yon plis kèk: voye Jay Z ' Sou nan yon sèl la Next. ' Mwen jwenn kèk Papadeaux si frape Knowles manman byen?

Quoi? Qu'est-ce que parlez-vous? Fou.

Dude what the fuck are you saying? Lol

Is that Haitian Creole or something?

This is what I replied:
"Some brother taught Beyonce a few Creole phrases a few months ago. I can give her a few more: send Jay Z 'On to the Next one.' Do I get some Papadeaux if hit mama Knowles properly?"

I was being ironic in my own way. I found this vid maybe a month ago.

So Creole and Kreyol are the same thing? He didn't correct her tho'

Votre mère et créole?.... I didn't know her mother is Haitian.

And goodness gracious, Haitian Creole is crazy different from French...

Man just heard the song yesterday, daughter was jamming in to do had to go watch the video....

Mama Louisiana Daddy Alabama is tight....

Baby hair Afro...Jackson 5 nostrils

Beyoncé did her thing with this song, also saw she directed it....

Then she got Messy Mia highlighted...
I thought it was Big Fredda

Its both. Somebody dug up the New Wildlings video where the first voice came from and the other dude was interviewed on CNN.

Imagery is more important sometimes, so ill take it; I like that she is pushing the imagery!!! we can nit pick and some will, but I wont; Alot of you want artist to be this or that, she giving something and she gave something on a national stage; she gets my props for that:cool::cool:

Some might say it's ratchet as hall but she performed that shit during halftime of the fucking Super Bowl...

Saying she love her big nose, being a creole Bama.... Don't have a problem with her baby hair Afroed out with baby hair whipping...

This song grew on me. The things that it does drum track wise are specatular. I never knew that there was a marching band breakdown and scratching in it. I also think that they morphed her voice into or with the guitar at the beginning with something like omnisphere.
Sonically it goes hard.

"I ride on alligators"

Bey touched on a few things when this track and video...

*Female encouragement
*Southern family roots(Louisiana, Alabama to Texas)
*Baby appearances
*Black folk not apprenticing their appreance
*Black power
*Hurricane Katrina crisis

What I missed

Meet the 30 Dancers from Beyonce’s #Formation
16 CULTURE

by Rinny – February 15, 2016

We’ve had over a week to recover from Beyonce’s spontaneous pro-black track and music video to her new single “Formation,” which was followed by a very pro-black Super Bowl performance. A total of 30 black woman dancers shared the Super Bowl half time stage with Beyonce as well as in her Formation video. Instantly, we wanted to know who these talented women were so we took our search to the ‘gram and found them.

When I first heard this song, I thought that this song will be played AT EVERY STEPSHOW in the country. It will also be played by EVERY BLACK COLLEGE BAND in the country in reference to their Majorette sections. Every BLACK STRIP CLUB in the country. Okay ladies let's get in formation....an instant 2016 anthem or anthem of the decade candidate.

After the superbowl performance (honoring the 50th anniversary of the Black Panthers) and the "black experience as told by experts who were not black" spin that followed, I was like....this was probably not supposed to go this way...but she embraced it and owned it anyway.
