Let me be clear. That movie is outstanding top to bottom. there is some near genius scenes and the use of music was exceptional. And he PAID good money for all the clearances.
But just being REAL. He chose a LOT of beats that were POPULARIZED globally off hip hop. That is just a fact. I don't care how deep Wright is in music. Damn near EVERY song was from a CLASSIC hip hop record.
I have had people try to flip it like nah he found all those beats himself. BULLSH*T.
and I aint even HATING. It was brilliant and some people never KNEW the original sources so its all good.
But it ALSO made it a little easier to clear the ORIGINAL then to use the rap song it was USED on.
