Netflix stock is getting RAPED

that's what they get for doin all that dumb sheit. you lose 800,000 subscribers in less than 60 days, somebody needz they azz whipped. and then fired.

Yeah I heard on the radio today they've lost over 800,000 subscribers since going up on their prices.

The last quarter has not been good to Netflix. The company reported a loss of 800,000 subscribers, mostly due to the PR nightmare that came after it raised its prices for its combined streaming and DVD plan by 60%. Netflix ended the quarter with 23.8 million U.S. subscribers, compared to 24.6 million three months ago.

You not going to raise prices on me and don't add any newer movies to stream. Shit 90% of the good shit new or old is DVD only.

i don't get why ppl r mad at netflix for wanting to change their business model. we're becoming a stream first world, dvd's are going away. netflix has plenty of content and they get new content daily hell a shitload of movies in bgol theater are on netflix. sometimes i think ppl are just doing what others do and complaining bout netflix when there's nothing wrong with their service.

then u got folks getting mad at paying 8 bucks if they want dvd's...there are plenty of websites with new shit u can stream from, make ur pc a media center and ur good to go.

i like netflix, its great to me.

I have a hard time trying to find anything new or something I havent seen. Heck the new movies have been the same for a few weeks.

I agree. Netflix is a great product and a deal when you consider what you get for 8-15 bucks a month. It's the arrogance of this company and indecisiveness that pushed people over. I dumped the dvd plan and kept the streaming plan. If there are any recent movies I want to see that bad, I'll get it on demand from another service. I don't use on demand often, so the individual charge isn't a big deal.

At the end of the day Netflix problem is that they were tooo good. Their model was killin'em just ask HBO! Thus these companies got together and systematically devised a plan to slowly kill Netflix most notable by not allowing them to have up to date content by major studios.

This is a excellent example of the power of the consumer. If Netflix doesn't re-nig on that bullshit, their company will go up in smoke (Or should I say "continue" to go up in smoke bcuz that shit is smoldering now:lol:)

Netflix was overvalued for the last year and due for a correction, but they are too strong and entrenched to go belly-up. This is when you buy them. As someone earlier said, we are undoubtedly headed to a streaming world...and no on is better positioned for it than Netflix.

I don't agree netflix doesn't control the portals. How do customers get the content to their tv. Media players/ PS3/ Wii/ etc. This is where the strategic controls come into place if these providers decide to charge netflix or directly license the content themselves netflix could face some serious issues. Not to mention you have the juggernaut Amazon entering the market. Netflix has power now only because of the customers. They piss them off they are through because consumers do have other options.

If Netflix was smart they would make their own way to get you the media. Kind of like how Apple did. Control the hardware and software and you have shit on lock. Netflix is like Microfost in that aspect.

the studios won't allow it... theres a reason why hbo and showtime and soon starz want out of netflix ppl will dump cable and go netflix and netflix won't pay the multimillions the networks want. blame the content studios and cable companies netflix puts the fear of god in them and they pay whatever to keep exclusive deals

I dropped them right after the rate change was announced. I knew alot of people probably would. Streaming doesn't have new releases, so you need bluray delivery for that. Once they decided to charge for each it just wasn't worth it.

The stock was over valued to begin with and it was only a matter of time before they came back down to earth.

Very good point, sir. Nice to have someone rebut with facts and not hyperbole and typical BGOL crabbin'.

I don't have figures, but I think a small percentage of movie streams go to portals like PS3 and Wii. Not sure what you mean by media players?
