Sony has also started production with 65nm processors. If you think adding in a 120GB hard drive and an HDMI port (which Microsoft laught at and said was unnecessary), is the end for the PS3, you clearly need to look at the bigger picture a little harder. As much as people want to talk shit about the PS3, it never has been about the hardware, for either console. Funny thing is, the Sony haters yapped and yapped about the PS2 having to be put together piece by piece, yet these same people are happy to have a 360 and do the same thing. Microsoft themselves said that 1080p HD was not needed and a complete waste of money. Lo and behold, they update the dashboard with 1080p support, thought obviously without an HDMI feed, and then go ahead with the supposed HDMI port. They put in a tiny 20GB hard drive in the first system, noting that there is no need for anything bigger, since the system is only used for games. All of a sudden, they offer HD movie downloads and other content. Now, I am not a fanboy of either. I own a 360 and a PS3. They both have their faults, but it is ridiculous to blindly follow one company's business moves and act as if shit is all good. This new 'Zephyr' isn't even an upgrade. I put a 120GB hard drive in my PS3 from day one, on my own, no modding, no hard work, its just like adding or changing a drive in a PC. Shit, it even tells you how to do it in the manual, in case you don't know. Its all comes down to the games and the PS3 is still a baby. For the year and change that the 360 has been out, I expected much better, in terms of quality of games. In the end, however, I do believe this year, 2007, will be the biggest year for games possibly ever: Mass Effect, Bioshock, NBA Street, Heavenly Sword, Motorstorm, God of fucking War II, GTA IV, Halo 3(boo), Metal Gear Solid 4, Devil May Cry 4, Virtua Fighter 5, Tekken 6, possibly Resident Evil 5, Kane & Lynch, Alan Wake(wheneve that bitch decides to drop), UT 3. and it goes on.
Whats even funnier, is that even if you pick your side and cheer them on like a Laker girl, if you were smart, you would still want the other console to make a name for itself. Competition is good for us, the consumers. If Sony fell off with the PlayStation, as so many jackoffs want to see, then we would be left with Microsoft, of all companies, to dictate to us what we can and cannot deem fun within the videogame industry; Just another genre for Gates & company to assimilate. Is this really what you want?
