National Geographic has pulled Neil deGrasse Tyson’s long-running show Star Talk from its lineup as the company investigates allegations of sexual misconduct made against the famous astrophysicist. “In order to allow the investigation to occur unimpeded we chose to hold new episodes of Star Talk until it is complete,” a Nat Geo rep told Variety. “We expect that to happen in the next few weeks at which time we’ll make a final decision.”

In November, two women said they experienced inappropriate interactions with Tyson: Dr. Katelyn N. Allers, an associate professor of physics and astronomy at Bucknell University, said Tyson allegedly groped her in 2009. Tyson’s former assistant, Ashley Watson, said Tyson allegedly pressured her to join him at his apartment for wine one night, and says he made several advances. Musician Tchiya Amet has also accused Tyson of raping her when they were both grad students in the 1980s.

Tyson has denied the allegations of sexual misconduct.

:smh: Fucked up his show.

Are the women credible? Remember that buzzword from just months ago. Credible? lol

i think his done and seems innocent . even if his proven innocent , his reputation is damaged.

He tried to female rape these women with his effeminate approach. He is a weak beta male.

I tell women straight up that I would like to take you to dinner, than if everything goes well, than you will be mounted afterwards. There is no deception or hiding my intent. Most heterosexual women are turned on, especially when I grab them by their arm.

Mr. President, you should be focusing on ending the shutdown, no time for posting on BGOL right now

I hope this doesn't end like it looks like it will

This is really really bad for several reasons:

1) If true, for the “victims” thats terrible.

2) Huge hit for public science education. All the young hopeful kids, young adults and adults this guy has helped to inspire. This dude has spoken to congress, is on numerous advisory boards etc. Comparisons to Carl Sagan is not done lightly.

3) Huge hit for blacks and black professionals. Neil is considered one of the most popular, at least, in a field dominated by everyone else except blacks and become its public face.

4) Neil is “ruined” no one will touch him going forward.

besides the media damaged to whom? The fact that Trump is president after we found out he cheated on his wife with a pornstar and still has the support of his Christian base proves no one gives a shit.

different rules for blacks , whites are forgiven and given many chances but blacks they make examples of
aot of white folks got taken down by the me too movement, Les Moonves and Weinstein were two of the most powerful men in hollywood.

if i invite you to my house for late night drinks the fuck do you think i am inviting you for????? women need to grow the fuck up. he pressured me to his apartment for wine then tried to have sex with me... how much pressure did it take for you to agree to come there. now if he was using force or had you at gunpoint then you have a different argument. save me the bullshit about how he was a powerful man so you agreed even though you didnt want to

but none gone to jail , you would have thought weinstein would be in prison by now
Only one person is accusing him of rape and thats what he is in court for now. Cosby on the other hand fucked a bunch of women while they were unconscious.

When they are unable to demonstrate their white supremacists beliefs, when you demonstrate parity, they will take non specific retaliatory measures, and be overly critical of your character.

No surprise this happened with the lunar landing by the Chinese. There has been an uptick in anti China sentiment and a backlash towards other minorities. There has been more media coverage of human rights issues. The bullshit unsubstantiated report about chips being planted. I am not pro Chinese but I do see similarities with my activity.

If they put somebody on the moon or Mars, we need to go to high alert. They will kidnap more executives and bring up human rights issues. We will get the brunt with race riots and killings.

What about their cars and consumer electronics? As long as the high end components are derived from them such as the CPU and OS, they will tolerate their products. Stamping sheet metal and pouring engine blocks is accepted.

If I work with you
I don't talk to you outside of work.
No team building
No chilling outside of work
No alone situations
none of that shit. and don't ask me why I'm not super friendly. Cause my friendly, which wouldn't involve any type of physical touch could easily turn into H.R. trying to say some shit
it's why every single assistant I've had who's ever hinted at flirting, I've moved immediately.
I'm not blaming anyone for the way it is, I'm just saying it's the way it is
Awesome plan to never move up in a company.

I know as a woman you have to put out in order to climb the ladder and for that I'm sorry flawless

But as a man you don't have to do those sorts of things to get promoted

Things are changing for the better though so just keep playing the game and one day soon you won't have to flirt with ppl and stuff in order to get ahead

Trump is white

Can Black America save ONE BROTHER?
WE can elevate him to his previous status - as long as he promises to stay away from Beckys!!

He should go on Colbert - it's always a HOOT! when he's a guest there.
Tell America "when a woman is invited for a late night drink, the drink is not the point of it.
If she doesn't want to drink & enter the cosmos, just say 'No.' and that's that."

His folksy approach when he blows minds astrophysically can be used to bring the truth out.

He co-signed the 'Space Force' by saying we basically already have it.
- No controversy! He didn't say Trump was right, he just stated facts.
Same thing for the women who claim rape when it's not that.

Early last month, National Geographic and Fox decided to put Neil deGrasse Tyson’s Star Talk on hiatus following allegations of sexual misconduct made by multiple women against the astrophysicist. Now, it seems Fox won’t be premiering the second season of Tyson’s Cosmosas scheduled next month, as the networks’s joint investigation into the allegations is reportedly still ongoing.

According to TVLine, Fox’s upcoming schedule contains no mention of Tyson’s documentary series, which was intended to return March 3. Instead, Family Guy reruns will air on the network in its time slot. At least four women have accused the TV host of alleged misconduct, ranging from groping to sexual harassment in the workplace to date rape, all of which Tyson denied via a Facebook post in December. “I’m the accused, so why believe anything I say?,” he said after offering a rebuttal to the numerous allegations against him. “Why believe me at all?”

Last year, Neil deGrasse Tyson was accused of misconduct by multiple women who had worked with or socially come into contact with him over the years. Since then, the American Museum of Natural History has been investigating those claims with the help of a firm called T&M Protection Resources, and has determined that Tyson will keep his job as the director of the Hayden Planetarium, according to the New York Times. He was also previously under investigation by National Geographic, but the network cleared him and said it would continue to produce episodes of his shows Cosmosand Star Talk, though neither of those shows have a return date yet for broadcast.

Katelyn N. Allers, who is an associate professor of physics and astronomy at Bucknell University, claims that Tyson allegedly groped her at an American Astronomical Society after-party in 2009. His former assistant, Ashley Watson, described a night where Tyson allegedly pressured her to join him at his apartment for wine, where she claims he then made several advances. Watson says she quit her job over the incident. A woman named Tchiya Amet el Maat has also accused Tyson of raping her when they were in grad school together back in 1984 at the University of Texas. He has denied all of the accusations against him.
