SURVIVAL OF THE FITTEST
"The strong shall cull the weak from the bosom of this earth"

Yooo, Apocalypse was that DUDE.

:(

you arent talking about yourself are u

I just paid $760 for a 91 Toyota Camry. Why sell your shit at a loss? unless it's been declared undrivable put it on the curb and see if someone will give you more for it. People who pay $1,000 or less for a car are expecting troubles. They won't think any less of you for the high mialage, tricky transmission, or non existent catalytic converter (especially if you're in a no smog state). They just want a bucket who can get them on their next road trip or help them shore up their girlfriend.

If you have a weekend or two to spare then make this your goal. If so you'll make a couple hundred off an easy transaction.

Yup. . . thats him alright

Real talk though, I can understand why he feels the way he does...I was ther once.

The thing ya gotta realize is that being successful is a result of having your priorities straight...prime example, why even Date, if you are broke? It's just a waste of time and energy, if you broke you should b workin 3 jobs, nigga you don't even need to sleep!

Secondly, your unemployed, so why do you even need a car? Even if you did have a job you could always take public transporation. $500 for a yearly bus pass > Thousands of dollars for a piece of shit car + Maintenance, Gas, Tickets etc.

As far as your music career, there's either two reasons you failed:

lack of self evaluation

or

lack of persistence

nobody is a born prodigy at anything in life....most niggas are be garbage in the begining...but with practice they get better

just like ANY AQUIRED CHARACTERISTIC IN LIFE. . some ppl are more inclined towards a certain skill. . .whether it's dexterity, hand to eye movement, perfect pitch, charisma, or articulateness....

some niggaz is gonna pick up on shit easier than others obviously

but not EVERYBODY will be great with practice....

What would I reccommend? I recommend you go on a 7 day water fast. . . why?

If you can control something as natural as your eating habits, then you can control anything in life. . .

And I also recommend you run atleast 2 miles a day, and lift weights for atleast 45 mins every day. Doing that will build discipline, and plus when you see you're making progress, it will teach you why being persistent towards your goal is essential. It will also build your confidence/self esteem.

here's a great exceprt from Robert Ringer's book "Winning Through Intimidation"...everyone shoudl read

In reality, you can't acquire a positive mental attitude simply by standing in front of a mirror and reciting self-energizing slogans, force-feeding your mind with positive thoughts, or heartily shaking people's hands (while grinning ear to ear) and loudly exclaiming "GREAT!" when asked how things are going for you. This kind of synthetic positive mental attitude cannot bring about success.

By contrast, a real] positive mental attitude can play a major role in one's success but such an attitude is a result in being prepared. In other words, a true positive mental attitude is possible only through one's having the ammunition to back it up. You develop a positive mental attitude by being good at what you do, by being prepared, by understanding the realities of what it takes to succeed, and by having the self-discipline to base your actions on those realities.

Hence the success cycle is self-perpetual: The more prepared a person is, the more confident he becomes, which translates into a natural positive mental attitude which in turn increases his chances of success. You can set all the goals you want, but I can guarantee that you won't achieve them if you're unprepared. A positive mental attitude requires preparation and the two of them work in concert to help you achieve your goals.

so much real talk here and I myself will be going back to heed from my own advice:yes:getting back to me.

Yes, that's me. I feel I should explain a few things though.

Part of the reason I'm unemployed is because I'm on a student visa which means I'm not legally allowed to work until I've been in the country for at least one year. Basically until mid-May. I'm already more than 1/3 of the way through my degree but if I get deported those credits will be worthless. In the meantime, I've been volunteering in various spots trying to make sure I can hit the ground running once I'm ready.

One of the reasons I have a car is because public transit in the Bay Area is ridiculously expensive. $500 would barely cover my transit expenses for 3 months. For instance, if I have to go to Hayward and back it costs me roughly $8-$10 and can take over an hour each way. In my car it takes less than $5 worth of gas and the trip takes less than 20 minutes. Also the neighborhood I live in isn't always safe to walk through after dark, especially if I'm carrying sound gear. Having a vehicle eliminates the need for a taxi.

I currently run 3 1/2 miles every other day. I lift weights about two days a week. I've tried to lift 45 minutes every day, but I can't find a way to make my body handle the stress. Working out every day seems to limit my gains until after a while I can barely lift 3/4's of what I could do the week before. My last attempt at a water fast fizzled after 3 days.

There are many reasons I haven't 'made it' as a musician (or at least not making it now. I used to raise a family of 4 off of my gigs and CD sales.) I honestly believe one of the main reasons was a bad location. If there was a slew of Vancouver rappers making long money off of their crafts then I would be the first to blame a lack of persistence. On the contrary, I've known at least 200 from that city and less than 20 of them ever made enough to eat. Of the ones that did most of them either worked part time jobs, lived with their parents, or had a side hustle that got them locked up. For most even that meager success died within a couple years just like mine did. That's one of the reasons I moved to California.

If I had been going through all of this at 21 years old it would have been understandable. At 31 it's just pathetic.
