Not a bum, but could have been a real All Time Great contender if his mental approaches matched his talent. He sleep walked to 20-10 and could have made a much bigger impact on the game....

Sad to say but Coleman had more initial drive than Simmons does now. Simmons has all world ability but is too passive. Going to LSU was a mistake. They have no clue how to handle a top talent and basically let him get away with murder. Such as never going to class and disqualifying himself for player of the year.
Team with vets or hard nose coach like Lionel Hollins are going to have to keep him in check.

What player comes to mind to you as an NBA comparison? Buddy Hield lacks height and athleticism for his game to translate into a elite shooting guard in the NBA. What he will likely be successful at in the NBA is coming off of screens and hitting jumpers and threes. He can be a really good role player for a team.

Joe Johnson is 6'7" and was athletic when he first came to the league. He was a hybrid SG/SF. Buddy Hield is maybe 6'3"/6'4" and lacks both height and athleticism. Buddy can be an effective role player if he is on the right team. If you are expecting a star... he will not be effective.
Ben Gordon is a good comparison and he had an average career and was better utilized coming off the bench. Kemba and Isiah are/were quick. Isiah was a point guard and Kemba is a shooting guard in a point guards body.

On the flip side its possible Hield is ehst hes going to be. With his improvement spike since he was a freshman, he may have reached his peak. Also, there is nothing unique about being 6-3 with his skillset. Hes a scorer, a great one, but no versatility to his game. If his shot isnt falling what else is there to him consistently? I love Ingrams versatility an the fact that even though hes already an elite talent, at 18 hes not scratched the surface of his potential yet...
Heild is a shooting guard in a PGs body as well....
