Great dunk contest. Haven't seen two finalists go dunk for dunk like that since Jason Richardson and Desmond Mason. Gordon got robbed. A tomahawk to between the legs was a first-time I've ever seen someone do that. Props to both doing it off their first attempt.

Yeah that shit was fire for its time, especially because it was a back and forth between MJ and Nique, BUT in years since, we've seen dunks that far surpass the classic dunks we say in that early competition. They would be considered very basic by today's standards.
That was the best dunk contest ever.... Especially considering how so so it had got... Zack brought it back last year and brought the anticipation with him.Gordon was better than advertised... That was so good I think everybody would have been happy with a tie.

Lavine was just straight throwing down nasty dunks with no props or mascots needed.
The shit looked so effortless, especially his last dunk.
Gordon's dunks were equally as nice, but I think having the mascot hyped it up more.
Still a great contest. Not gonna say it's the greatest of all time but it's up there.
Looking forward to these brothas going at it next year.
