NBA 2K18
Serious question about this game. I can't stop the computer for shit on D. What settings y'all play on Superstar or All-star? Superstar is just too fuckin hard. Computer don't miss for shit and drive right by defenders all the time.
I don't usually play against the cpu other than my team. You basically have to use every cheese move in the game. As for the difficulty I played on all star and lower the cpu sliders. Play off ball when possible and help when needed. Send double teams off none shooters. Set defensive assignments to tight and deny ball based on the offensive player. Just be aware if you set deny ball then that player will normally run off screens.

They have a good suggestion of 2k sliders over there.
They had live on sale for $9.98 so I got it and it's much better than 2k18 to me. I could have saved myself a lot of money had I known this from the jump.
Seems like setting up tight and deny ball has quicker defenders blowing past defenders going to the hole moreso than ever before. I have to be quicker to help off the center and power forward spots.
If the PF can't shoot send a double team to help off anytime someone tries to do iso or send a corner helper because they're usually not going to pass out to that corner man. Also the collision detection is shitty so you can guard close and knock the ball away from contact.
Speaking collision detection....off the ball screens are horrible on the game
HOLD UP.... I haven't played a single park (or pro-am) game in about 4 months..... so I'm in MyCareer mode tonight and I decide to try to finish both of those 'Win 5 Park games wearing a Gatorade/Mountain Dew T-Shirt' objectives....
So I mosey on over to the Playground & try to stand on a 'Got Next' circle.... and the game disconnects & takes me to the PSN Store... saying that I cannot play with other online 2K players UNLESS I purchase a Playstation PLUS Membership.
Wait a sec... when did this happen? Is this TRUE?
Do I really need to GET A PS PLUS Membership... just to play Games in the Park in 2k18 Now???????

I searched Google but cannot find ANY info about it... BEING MANDATORY.

If the park is online then yes you have to pay for a ps plus account to play online. U can get a month for bout 4 bucks on Ebay right now

I've had a PS4 since it first dropped, but don't remember earlier versions of NBA 2K14, 2k15, or 2K16, or 2K 17 working like this.
At all.Also, I been playing other ONLINE MMO games since 2011 (like Warframe & DC Universe Online, for example)... and joining PS Plus is NOT mandatory for those games at all.
Hell, back in 2014... I even remember playing GTA 5 Online WITHOUT joining PS Plus at all.
Some games don't require PS Plus.... Some games DO.

As long as I had my ps4 you had to pay to play online I think. Not big into online gaming anyway. Got my ps plus account really just for free games.

I see alot of gamers & popular YouTubers who have been very AVID 2k fans (for years) leaving to play 'Fortnite', or 'Detroit: Become Human', or old versions of 2K17, or whatever... so I was just curious if cats on BGOL are still playing 2k18 (this time of year) as much as previous versions.
And you are probably the 'main person' who regularly posts 'updates' for 2K, in this thread.
This year, feels like its been the BIGGEST 'dropoff' of the playerbase, of the entire franchise.
But maybe I'm wrong.

As for the fan base dropping off that's true. A lot of the YouTube guys didn't do as much content as usual. This year was a bad game overall. Blow passed drives on the defense. Money grabbing in buying VC in my team and my career.
I wouldn't hold my breath for that.
The fact that the first thing they did for 2K19 is announce you gotta pre-order the $100 SPECIAL EDITION version (as opposed to the regular version) to get the early-tip off let's me further know that they are about to double up on the bullshit from last year. They gone charge for everything. It's gone be more product placement in more cutscenes you can't skip.
An extra $40 dollars to play the shit 4 days earlier and 100,000 VC, which you'll fuck off within 5 minutes of having control of your character and a bunch of Lebron themed shit you probably won't even care about if you're not a Lebron fan.
2K18 was a pure money grab. And 2K19 will be the same.

I still play it, but only because I'm too busy to get invested into another game. And rarely do I enjoy it.
2K clearly dropped the ball this year. Here's why.
Lack of content. Fornite and GTA drop some new shit at least once a month. 2K don't do shit but load up them raggedy ass MyTeam cards.
They made it too much of a grind. Shitty rewards.
The gameplay is atrocious, it's too cheesy now. The archetype system just made it so that you can pick your cheese. From swishing half-court shots, to suddenly barrelling into the paint like a freight train.
I could've sworn one of the selling points was that they took out the uncontrollable, canned animations. They added more. Like when you lose the ball, it's like somebody threw a flash bang on the court. I think they added some more this week, because now when you go for a steal, your man starts doing gymnastics and shit.
Servers still trash. I can't never find my rhythm shooting because the lag from server to server is so inconsistent. I could be water wet in one server. And then house building in another, releasing shots at the same time.
They didn't try to fix shit wrong. It's like they gave up trying half way thru the 2K year. They started releasing patches without patch notes because they know they wasn't fixing shit. They were just adding cosmetic shit.
And after all that shit, they had the nerve to e-mail people like "why ya'll don't play 2K no more?", and the whole 2K community was in unison like "where do I start?"
They know 2K19 will be more of the same.
Roster update. Boring ass story. Lame characters. They gone spruce up the Playground a little bit. They might turn the graphic settings up a notch. They gone take something out. They gone put something back in.
What else could they possibly do? I can't even imagine what they COULD say to make me want to buy this next game.
Shit is ass.....Greek Freak on the cover...that's about it.
