Boruto Naruto Manga Release Date, News, and Updates: Kishimoto Going on Another Venture, Naruto to Have a New Manga; Boruto's Very Own

It is quite obvious that Masashi Kishimoto has moved on from the Naruto franchise and is going to start a new venture in the sci-fi arena. However, it is still not over for the franchise; now Naruto's son, Boruto will have his very own manga that's going to be penned by Kishimoto's art assistant.

Here's the latest on Boruto Manga release date, news, and updates.

The countdown for the 'Next Generation' ended back in December 19th, and they have announced another manga for the franchise. This time the focus will be on Boruto (Naruto's son).

The Naruto manga was originally created by Masashi Kishimoto, but the upcoming 'Boruto' will be drawn by Mikio Ikemoto (Naruto Assistant Artist who worked closely with Masashi Kishimoto).

Masashi Kishimoto will still be in involved in the manga, but this time as a supervisor only. Aside from Masashi Kishimoto and Mikio Ikemoto, Ukyō Kodachi will be writing the upcoming Boruto manga series. Ukyō Kodachi has been involved in writing Naruto - Gaara Hiden: Sajingensō novel and Boruto -Naruto the Movie-screenplay coordination.

The upcoming manga will be titled 'Boruto' and will start running on Weekly Shonen Jump by spring next year. There will be new Boruto series every month.

The Naruto manga has ended its 15-year run last year-November-and since then Masashi Kishimoto has done 'The Last: Naruto the Movie' and 'Boruto: Naruto the Movie' which both box office hits.

Aside from this Kishimoto also wrote 'Naruto: The Seventh Hokage and Scarlet Spring' (one-volume manga).

During the preview of 'Boruto: Naruto the Movie' voice actress, Yuko Sanpei said that she wanted to see more films in the Naruto franchise, however Masashi Kishimoto responded saying, "I can't. Please let me rest now."

He continued saying, "During this time, I finally went on my
honeymoon

. Even though my son has grown as big as Boruto."

It was only after finishing Boruto: Naruto the Movie was Kishimoto able to go to this honeymoon after being married for more than a decade.

But fret not, Kishimoto fans, during the New York Comic Con, back in October 8 to 11, Kishimoto confimed that he is working on another manga, and a science-fiction story.

Naruto Is Officially Getting Anime Spin-Off Series

Yesterday, Masashi Kishimoto promised he would be giving fans a rather big update on the future of Naruto, and he did not disappoint. Today, the beloved creator made an appearance at Shonen Jump’s Jump Festa where he talked to fans about a few new projects he has lined up. It was there that Kishimoto revealed that the Boruto manga is getting a full-length anime series that will debut in spring 2017.

If you are not familiar with the Boruto manga, then it is time you got schooled. The publication is a spin-off of the original Naruto manga which Kishimoto created years ago. Ukyō Kodachi and Mikie Ikemoto are the creators behind the spin-off, and Kishimoto has said he’s excited to bring a second generation of ninjas to the small screen.

During the event, Kishimoto told fans that he has high hopes for the project. "I plan to make it even better than Naruto,” he promised

Of course, this will not be the first time fans have met Boruto through anime. A few years back, a theatrical feature was made which focused on the legacy character. Boruto is the son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyuuga, and he is just as precocious as his father. The ninja starred in Boruto: Naruto the Movie, and fans were quick to rave over the new character. He was joined on-screen by new and old faces as protagonists like Sakura Haruno, Sasuke Uchicha, and more had major roles in the anime feature.

In the past year, Boruto has also made a major push towards fans outside of cinemas. A one-off anime special about the character was released in Japan earlier this November. Boruto was also added to the very popular Naruto Shippūden: Ultimate Ninja Storm video games as the DLC pack ‘Road to Boruto’ was released. The expansion is expected to his the U.S. on February

Many fans were eager to hear whether Kishimoto would confirm a Boruto anime was in the works or not. Yesterday, the creator teased fans with the possibility of several major updates for the franchise, and he delivered. At the event, Kishimoto and TV Tokyo debuted a key visual and promotional video for Boruto: Naruto Next Generations, and it has fans clamoring to see more.

The director also took time to nod at the upcoming live-action Naruto film which Lionsgate is said to be developing. The creator confirmed the movie is taking place and that he will be involved with its production.
