Manchild In The Promised Land by Claude Brown

Behold A Pale Horse by William Cooper

Autobiography of Malcolm X by Alex Haley

Roots by Alex Haley

Message to the Blackman In America by Elijah Muhammed

Caliban and the Witch by Silvia Federici. While it didn't change my life it did change my thinking. It's one of those books that kinda connects the dots between historical events.

During the early to mid eighties, these books had me open. Lead to a lot of trouble too.

THAT BOOK WAS AMAZING!
I read that after this white blonde hair blue eyed polish chick I knew was like that was her favorite book but it was about a black boy growing up in Harlem -

Had to check it out - was not disappointed.

The autobiography of Ghandi. I try to re-read this book periodically. From diet, to the power of meditation, and the value of long reflective walks, this book is the example that I try to base my life upon.

This is a great book. It shaped my political life, in that it made me realize that humanity is estranged. Moreover, it made me realize that political solutions to social problems which do not reflect that reality will fail.

I can't afford to go to India, or Japan, and have a guru train me in meditation. However, this book is the next best thing. In very easy to understand language, it teaches one how to meditate and deals with all the problems a novice, such as myself, faces when trying to learn to meditate.

What can I say about this book, it's my writing guide. This books solves every problem a writer faces, from learning to avoid writing in passive voice, to learning how to recognize and avoid fragmented sentences. I owe much of my academic success to this book.

I would have added the Ralp Ellison's The Invisible Man, too, but that's been mentioned enough.

This book talks about how the power establishment uses categories such as sexuality, race, and gender to control how people think and behave. Great book but very dense.

The Millionaire Next Door
The Millionaire Mind
Rich Dad Poor Dad
Cash Flow Quadrant
Rich Dad's Guide to Investing

I was given a Hard Cover of this book awhile back. Rourke's Speech in court was powerful!
When I was in my 20's, this book had me in a whole different mind state.

Forgot about this one.

Reginald Lewis built a billion dollar empire but passed away from a brain hemorrhage. He lived it though.
