Just this year (last month) a surfer was struck by a great white and a pod of dolphins interdicted the attack and "escorted" the surfer back to shore.

Sharks dont tangle with dolphins because the attack profile of a dolphin can cause fatal wounds. A pod of dolphins will continously ram their "snouts" into the gills of a shark, thus potentially causing suffocation thru trauma of the gills.



...so always buy dolphin-friendly tuna. (one day they might repay the favor).

one of the most beautiful things i've ever seen in my life is a female dolphin giving birth to a pup, offshore gulf of mexico.

the little guy came out and the maternal instinct kicked-in big time.

about 2 days later, i saw them swimming around again... that shit was cool.
