My nephew is trying to rap, is he wack?

Not completely wack, but nothing special. He is lyrically poor and vocally a dime a dozen. From his lyrics he sounds rich, is this true? Tell him to come out as gay. He will get a lot of support.

From the desk of Hiss Excellency.

The talent is there. And I agree, this is the type of shit that's selling, but I wouldn't mind hearing him try another style, another track, and another subject, instead of the same ol' same ol'. This ain't my cup of vodka, but he does have talent.

I agree,
He's not bad at all but my problem is that it's "Dime a Dozen" rapping.
We've heard this style of rap repeatedly ad nauseum by 100's if not 1000's of Lil Wayne's or Drake wanna be's.
If he wants to stand out he has to be unique with his delivery and his beats have to draw in the listener while complimenting his vocals at same time.
For me there was too much superfluous instrumentations in the beat where it somewhat drowned out the vocals.
Sometimes a simple beat is more powerful than these elaborate orchestrations.
There has to be a synergy with the lyrics, the delivery and the beat.
He appears to have a lisp because of his underbite and he should use that to his advantage.
Mold his style of delivery that is in concert with his vocal lisp making it unique and his own.

Luckily rap's just a hobby for him and business is going great for him being that he's already a billionaire.

yes your nephew is very whack but whack is the new dope this sounds like the shit that plays in the clubs and on the radio and thats not really a bad thing

He's lyrically as WACK as everyone else on the radio today...

That boy might have a future in the industry.. Get to the BACK OF THE LINE tho.

Thanks, he actually is a smart kid and just started his first yr off college. I'm hoping his content evolves as he does as a person but this is like his first time rapping. He is shooting a video today with some film students. He got a lot of hustle in him and stated this clothing kind when he was 16 by his damn self http://richrebelclothing.bigcartel.com/ . So we all just try to support him cause he is taking chances most kids wouldn't take. DJ Toomp has been giving him advice

That's a good look. Everything you just said is a good look. It just puzzles me though, with that good a head on his shoulders, why just go along with the norm? Not even specifically him, but his generation (my youngest son included, so you know I'm not just pickin on him). From what you describe, ya neph has a lotta leadership qualities. He thinks broadly, not necessarily out of the box, but definitely business minded. You really need to sit and politic with him on the regular to make sure he stays on path. If he's in college, he will more than likely evolve greatly this first year. That's what happened to me, cause I was 100% into the gangsta rap, but my freshman year of college put all kinda consciousness into my mind. So I'm very optimistic about him making that move. I'd definitely like you to keep at least me posted as he drops new material.

BTW - He needs to be careful because one of his logos is far too close to Rolls Royce. And they will wait until he has made enough money to be worth suing for, then make moves to destroy him. 100

tats bro! he needs tats! he has a punk ass sissy look.. he needs a few face tats and both arms covered in tats.. also a lil weed smoke in the video and he will be a star.. image is everything..

:lol::smh:

It aint about tatts but he definitely doesnt fit the image he is selling. Flow itself seemed decent to me tho. I listened to the whole thing.

Yeah keep the one R for rich and another font for the rebel R

I'd download the mixtape

But he not ass tho

Not my kind of music so to me it sounds like all of the other shit out there. However, I asked my 21 & 19 and they are not feeling it. I asked would they buy it and they said no. I asked my 19 yr would so go to he show and she said only if he was the 1st act to someone she want to see.

He just shot this one, I don't think it's as wack as the first one.

This is a lot better than his first track and its a hook that is relatable to a lot of folks in the city. Still needs work but nice to hear something without drug use and objectifying our black women.Should change his name to just Chad
