My NCAA football prediction *early*

1. LSU (record 11-1) Now I'm no Tiger fan, but when I see their schedule, its hard for me to see them losing more than one game. I'm not buying the Ole Miss effect, and they have a bone to pick with Alabama. The game I see them losing too is possibly Florida, however, they will beat them in the SEC championship.

2. Texas (record 11-1) The only game I can see them possibly losing is the Oklahoma State game. They are returning pretty much their whole team. Not to mention, their more experienced secondary. One major problem is the production of the defensive line.

3. Oklahoma (record 11-1) Same scenario from last year. However, Oklahoma State will make the last game a bitch for the Sooners. Sooners have major Offensive Line issues however.

4. Florida (record 11-1) I'm very iffy about the record due to the uncertainty of Georgia *they tend to beat florida when they are down...* I do not see any roadblocks on their schedule other than LSU. I do not see any issues with the lost of Percy Harvin. This can easily be a National Championship team again.

5. Penn State (record 11-1) *sigh* Penn state in the Big 10. Pretty much returning their whole defense. Penn State tends to make hiccups along the way. Thus, keeping them out of the NC picture.

6. USC (record 10-2) two teams to worry about. Notre Dame, and Cal. I don't see the qb issue to be a problem *due to how Pete Carroll's offense is*.

7. Boise State (record 11-0) Oregon is their toughest game by far. Prepare for this team to be a BCS buster team.

I'll stop right here.... DISCUSS!

Well Boise State has started off nicely...So you have a good start with that...

Here's what I have for the National Championship Game: Texas vs. Virginia Tech

Now going by your rankings:

LSU - They look to be a very good team this year, and may end up with a record to match...However, I see 2 losses from that team...They will beat Florida, but the road games at Alabama and Ole Miss are killers. Not to mention they play Georgia on the road also, and if the Dawgs start off by beating Okie State tomorrow, then they will be a team to watch for as well...

Texas - They have a shot to be undefeated, with possibly the best QB in the country returning and a defense that has a bunch of returning starters. If they can shore up their defensive backfield enough to survive the shootouts versus OU, Okie State, and Texas Tech, then the NC game is theirs for the taking...

OU - The Heisman Trophy winning QB is back, and Murray also returns, but most of the O-Line are gone..TE Gresham is out for this first game against BYU so that may be a scare tomorrow...If they get past that, then the big game against Texas is their only roadblock. Problem is I favor Texas to win that game against OU so that loss will hang over them at the end of the season.

Florida - Despite my disliking of this team, I will say that they will win the SEC East...The bad news is that they won't get to the NC game because first, they will lose to LSU (as they have lost at least once to an SEC West team for the past umpteen years) and to Ole Miss in the SEC title game.

Penn State - They got the ball control type QB to make minimal mistakes, and let the defense handle the rest...They can have a great season, but due to their schedule, if they lose once (and that doesn't have to be against Ohio State), their NC hopes are destroyed.

USC - Yes, USC does have two teams to worry about, but it's Cal and Ohio State...Terelle Pryor may be a nuisance for the USC defense September 12th, as even with Matt Barkley having the 2nd start of his career then, the USC defense front seven will be more of the mystery...

Bonus: Virginia Tech - This team has been "under appreciated" because they have been very successful in the ACC since they joined and they do not have the historical notoriety like Miami and Florida State has. Their first game is their toughest, but winning that game and getting by Georgia Tech on the road will have them smooth sailing into the ACC title game which may be an easier game than past years...So look for the Hokies to return to the BCS this year, but as a participant in the NC game.

Well my NC game prediction has taken a major hit already...I had to be bold with mines so I picked VT off the jump...

If they would've had Taylor run the ball on more QB draws that would've thrown the Bama defense off and they would've converted more third downs to keep the ball in their possession...

Now the Hokies have to run the table in order to have a small shot at the NC game...and the ACC has to be strong for the rest of the season

As I said, USC had to get past that hurdle of Ohio State...Now they have to look out for Cal, and maybe Oregon and UCLA...

So much for that Okie State win over Georgia...losing to Houston at home?! Inexcusable...:smh::smh::smh:
