Look into getting her a private duty nurse when she's rehabbing. Also get her one of those medication boxes that splits the meds according to days of the week. Fill that shit weekly and leave it on the kitchen table where she sits..
Some people aren't concerned with longevity as much as living they way they want to....Just stay trying to encourage her to take her meds and to eat a little better.

Damn, I hope things work out, fam. My dad had his heart attack about 15 years ago. After he got out of the hospital, you'd have thought he was training for the Olympics. Everything that doctor told him to do, he did, much to our shock and surprise! I'm proud of ol' boy, and he looks damn good today.

Sometimes parents get caught up in the whole my kids is grown but with grandkids, it's like they get a new lease on life and a chance to interact and pass on lessons to the younger generation.
My mom lives for grandkids and so she is physically active, a vegetarian and also takes flax seed oil.
Get your mom on that flax seed regime asap

Start a low intensity exercise program with a 5 - 10 min low speed walk daily......and gradually increase later on.
