My feedback on Fiasco's new album.

On another note...what did you kats think of Brad Jordans new drop?

Lupe's album is great....but lemme check and see if I can find that download of Brad's album...I think I put it where I put his last double cd ...

Agreed, but for a veteran rapper he held his own without changing his style.

[imo]It was solid front to back.[/imo]

yeah
same can be said for the UGK album.
just some of the tracks on scarface album seemed like R&B song to me.
i know the guy mellow...but some were just to mellow for me.

Wow, it's one of the best cd's of the year imo :smh: and it's getting rave reviews

That pic is funny as shit!
But The Cool is easily one of the best rap albums of the year.
But its for listeners. IMO he's lyrically in a league of his own, but he's subtle...its for listeners.

I agree with these statements. I don't know what these dudes are talking about, but these are probably the people who like Jay and 50's new records, talkin' about "They did it big with this one".

Yea, A/G is alright with me...I don't phuck with $.50 records though. :smh:

I must be in the minority because I thought this album was good. Most of the tracks were good to me. Hi-Def, Put You On Game, Streets on Fire,The Die, The Coolest, Hip Hop Saved My Life, Little Weapon, Fighters, Paris Tokyo and a few others.

I see right now by these responds that liking or disliking this album is just a matter of taste. I think to fully comprehend Lupe's shit you have to at least have graduated from Junior College or have read more than two books. The shit is like the Dante's Inferno of rap albums. You have to know about some shit before you push play or else this nigga gon seem like he talking latin to your ass.

Lupe had some good singles on this, but his voice aint captivating enough to make me want to sit through all of it. Im a big fan of Mos Def and hes drops some real thought in his music but he has the voice to keep you interested IMO.

 Bruh, you using Vista I see.

After the first listen, I approved. Food & Liquor grew on me quick. I'm sure this one will eventually getting the same spins in the iPod that F&L did.

Hi-Def, Hip-Hop saved My Life, Dumb it Down, Put You On Game, Coolest are some of my faves.

Co-Sign 100%.

.fuck outta here...and now anytime someone does somethin thats a lil abstract, you gain lil wayne comparisons.

Not true.

The flow Lupe used on the Coolest is quite obviously the flow Wayne has used countlessly over the last couple of years.

Don't get mad.

And does anyone else notice that Lupe fans arent different from Wayne fans?

I can't be the only one.

Both are VASTLY overrated by their fans, and seen as saviors of Hip Hop in their own right.

They are the yin and yang of the rap game I swear...

It took like 3 trips to and from work and being High one of those times for me to appreciate his album because the production is garbage. On most of his songs like is it that hard to realize for the type of introspective rap that he tries to shoot for he needs producers that can bring that heat!

Also that dude from Cold Play is on his album too I think is he like the New John Maher of rap or some shit?

Atleast he had more than 13 songs........

Its like alternative rap but his songs have a strong message my favorite album of the year continues to be:

Can't Stop Won't Stop

Lupe's The Cool is pretty good. I was surprised as fuck at Free's new album, though. Brother's tryin' to GROW a little.

A little.

Lupe's shit is solid, though. Gotta say, my favorite album of the year is a THE BOONDOCKS MIX TAPE vol1.

FIRE. Pure. FIRE.

I'll be the first to admit that I'm actually feelin' the Wu Tang 8 Diagrams shit. I can't stop listening to it, and I wanted to hate it. Also, Ghost's Big Doh Rehab is decent, too. That, and Little Brother's The Getback, stays in constant rotation.

Too obvious, and kats on some straight bull sh!t pretending like they aint noticed.

This dude here..i just cant feel his music for some reason..
maybe it just that im tired of the whole backpacker shit..
or maybe i just think his shit is wack..dude has no type of charisma whatsover..he aint marketable at all..and shit is just boring..
no one can deny this kids lyricism..but it just feels like at times he just puts "wordsy" phrases together just to rhyme and make it seem as if he is intelligent..
with that said..this kid will never blow..and if i wanted to hear a rapper who is actually saying something i could feel i would just listen to Nasir Jones..

Wow! I was expecting an interesting review on Lupe's latest.

Wasn't expecting comedy.

The albums definitely a winner in my opinion but it's not for anyone who predominantly listened to Lil wayne G-Unit bullshit.

Peace.:)

WORD!!!

ace

The first listen thru I wasnt feelin it too much, but after a 2nd go round it's not that bad.....It's something out of the ordinary which is very refreshing, not like that cookie cutter shit that be out nowadays, where anyone can get on the mic spit something, have a dance to go with it and have the #1 ringtone.....Fuck that

Oh you like Little Wayne?

...then peep The Coolest with the Lil' Weezy flow. :smh:

^^^Dude, I hate Lil Wayne, Baby and all that other wack and uncreative garbage and though it can be argued that Lupe and Wayne share similar flow patterns and cadence, they spectrums apart as far as subject matter goes. (with Lil Wayne being at the lower range)

I can agree with that.

"HATED IT"!!!!!..........
He has to master the art of breath control to impress me!!!
He should write a book, not record an album.

Couldn't agree with you more. Having lost my faith in modern hip hop I gave this special attention thinking it would be something new. It's not. It's fucking awful.

It is something different. The shit has a new sound.

Now, whether or not the album is actually good is subjective. From what i've heard, the shit sounds hot.

If you can't at least respect this album, something ain't right. Lyrics? Check. Nice melodies? Check. Ill subject matter? Check. If you don't like it, don't like it, but to shit on it? That's absurd.

Maaaaaaaaaaan. What fuckin traaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaash. That whole shit is fucking wack. He should change his name to Not Def
