As others have said, its not even close. The Love Below was groundbreaking for 3000 and hiphop. 3000 made this hipster shit cool.

but I feel like people are (and always HAVE) slept on Big Boi.

I actually liked HIS first single more.

Understanding the Hey Ya was brilliant and a monster!!!

And I listen to Way U Move much more then Hey Ya.

Andre 300 is on my all time MC list but that album is VERY experimental.

Unquestionably DOPE.

But it aint like Speakerboxxx was wack now.

If you would've asked me this a month or two after they came out, it would've been hands down the love below. I went back and listened to speakerboxx about a 3 years ago, and that sumbitch was jammin'! I love them both, but speakerboxx was waaaay underrated because love below was so different at the time.

First time I heard the Love Below I was like "What is this BULLSHIT"?

I lost the speakerboxx album and listen to the Love Below constantly, it grew on me...Andre 3000 is a fuckin beast.

I agree that Big Boi is slept on and that Speakerboxxx was a great album...but The Love Below is just simply a better album.

not even close. If I didn't know any better, I woulda thought Big Boi was WHACK based off that album.

I was shocked to find out that White boys generally tend to like SPEAKERBOXX better though. About 10 out of 10 that I asked. AMazing

personally, never did much for me

dont get it twisted I bring that up cause people FORGET that Big Boi's single ALSO was a record breaker and a BIG HIT!!!

But the whole album is tight.

I liked Speakerboxxx from the jump, The Love Below grew on me a little bit.

And looking at the tracklist now...I still like Speakerboxxx better. It had more songs I liked.

Prototype, Roses and She Lives In My Lap are still probably my favorite 3 songs off the whole thing.

The Love Below was better but they both were great albums. Just depends on your mood. And the fact that they were sold together made it even better.

Speakerboxx Daddy Phatstaxx be killin it all the time.

I listened to "The Love Below" a lot at first and skimmed "Speakerboxxx". "TLB" is an awesome album. But then I really checked out "SB" and was like . Big Boi created a masterpiece of a hip hop album. He was also experimental in the beat selections with some great features. As time has gone on, I've replayed "SB" more often so it gets my vote.

I've always equated this debate to the who's a better rapper debate between phonte and rapper big pooh of little brother. they're compliments, but in the end...phonte is on a different level and so is 3000. Alone you'd give Big Boi props...he wouldn't land in your top 10 ever where 3000, if you're honest, has a good chance of landing there.

It's a mismatch that amounts to preference, but there is no denying both had their place with their audience.
