Never thought the day would come...
Bruh, EVERY form of American music was originally created by black people, then appropriated by whites. Country, Rock, Blues, Jazz, Folk,Gospel... EVERY ONE. Rap is just next on the list. 15, 20 years from now, hip- hop will have been claimed by whites and its history re-written.
the good news is that we are GOD's children, and blessed with endless creativity. our people will continually come up with new shit, so don't let it bother you.
I have a problem with this.
You're ok with constantly having your shit stolen and capitalized off of far better than you?
You CAN'T be content with someone else profiting from your creativity more than you. No way, man.
I get, on some level, many black people say this shit because they don't feel they can stop them from stealing. . .
. . . but fuck that. There has to be a better way to go about this, other than being a creative slave for white people.
"You make it, we take it!"
I agree with everything you said but the truth is as long as we live around them this is what we can expect to happen. Yet when you tell black people let's separate from the white reality and build our own nation they act they can't function with them.
We apparently didn't want that as a collective when we had a lot less luxury than we do now. It was a lot easier to pull off way back when, when we didn't have much of anything, so starting from nothing/next to nothing would've been easier to wrap our minds around.
For as bad as it is, we have too much luxury and access, and it is not bad ENOUGH to separate for a future with an unknown outcome and unknown consequences.
its always been great to be white in America PERIOD
trump and his whole movement based on making it even better to be white (white male) even better in America
as a hip hop fan we have to be careful because the culture can and will be taken from us
just like other genres of music
