niggaz believe anything nowadays. just because people didnt see them write it, doesn't mean that they didnt.
i've yet to see one rapper make a meaningful album without having to pick up a pen once.

When your are crafting the rhyme ,you repeat it so many times over and over that if you have a decent memory you dont need to write it down.

you are right though, after writing and re-writing(in your head or paper) over and over you just start memorizing the bars naturally.

Was in the studio when J was recording. He never wrote anything down. J wrote everything in his head. He did not freestyle or anything like that.

Jay just would recite words over and over in his head and was able to recall what he was thinking.

Jay is one of them dudes that can write segments of bars in his head...he then goes in the booth and records that segment, steps back out and listens to that shit in a loop while thinking about the next lines...wash, rinse and repeat BOOM you have a whole verse.

Wayne is the same...we call them punch rappers. They record bit by bit by using punch ins.

I'm sure it's been said in this thread, but if anybody thinks Jay Z does anything close to freestyling his shit, they are ignorant to facts. He just has the ability to go over that shit enough in his head to memorize it...which is a good party trick, but it's not like the shit just magically comes to him in a couple minutes and he spits. And he most likely has shit come to him throughout the day and pieces that shit together..some of that shit he could have thought of last month and then go in without a pad and producers and dick riders are all stunned and amazed. It just adds to his legend, so he lets them think that. really a lot of rappers do that shit.

because he incorporates the beat in to the lyrics by his flow

so no, a lot of it's done on the spot as he hears the beat and how he sees the song in his head

He would rap the same way on every song according to you

I don't think it's necessarily lazy it's just before you couldn't record infinitely and get a vibe and then figure out the best pieces

You had to write it be sure make it count and then go from there

Even big and jay didn't do it because they were lazy it was because studio time was expensive and they needed to memorize the lines to get in and get out

I'm not one to police how ppl choose to be artistic as long as they aren't mailing it in

The good thing is you can hear if they're mailing it in or if they took the time to craft and piece together the most cohesive lines to create songs
