Dave Chappelle is getting into the podcast business.
The comedian has teamed with Talib Kweli and Yasiin Bey for a salon style show The Midnight Miracle.
The series was recorded during Chappelle’s 2020 Summer Camp in The Shack — a mechanic’s garage retrofitted as a clubhouse. The series will feature conversations punctuated with sketches, impersonations, archival audio clips, a musical soundtrack and guest interviews.
It will launch over the coming weeks on Luminary – the first show announced as part of Luminary’s new channel on Apple Podcasts, which will launch in May after Apple launched in-app subscription service.

Kweli, Bey, and Chappelle edited more than 100 hours of recorded content to make The Midnight Miracle in partnership with Jamie Schefman and Noah Gersh of SALT.
“Making a podcast isn’t the obvious next move for me, but it’s the right one. The Midnight Miracle gives you a look into how me and my friends process the world around us, and I think it will change the way listeners think of what a podcast can be,” said Chappelle.
The Midnight Miracle pushes the boundaries of podcasting, creating an audio experience listeners have never heard before. It is the exact type of project we built Luminary to support, and we are so excited to share it with listeners across the world,” said Simon Sutton, Luminary CEO.

I'll listen but it would have been cool if it was current.
This intrigues me...

this is a fascinating experiment

this aint REALLY a podcast...

its more like an audio series

at least in my opinion

and that isn't necessarily BAD

Its just not what I was expecting

not that I could have imagined this at all

I hope its dope and with the brothers involved there is no reason it shouldn't be.

It could be cool but Talib Kweli talks to much. He is a low key wack nigha. He always try to inject his past into interviews and over exaggerates his significance. The funny thing is I do like his music but his voice wears on me.
Yeah the internet has cooked him a couple of times for saying dumb shit lol

Definitely gonna check this out though

I tell people stop arguing with Talib and people like him because they aren't genuine. These people don't really care, they see class above all. Twitter dudes fighting with a nigga that don't give a fuck either way, we as black folks gotta stop this waste less conversation that does nothing.

No. Just bring Chappelle Show back or some such. I don't wanna hear the nigga talk unless he's telling jokes and doing skits.

I listened to the first episode. It was weird. It was also like 20 minutes. Im used to podcasts being at least a hour. Most of the 20 minutes was Mos rambling about Amy Winehouse and Robin Williams. Kweli added nothing and Chappelle barely spoke. I did like the little musical placements at odd times. Its well produced, it has potential.

BTW I echo the Talib is wack sentiments. Dude has his own podcast which he talks too much and sounds important, i dont know why hes needed here. Just give us Dave and a co-host to keep it moving

I'm podcast the fuck out....rip Paul Mooney.
