PLAQUEMINE - A series of explosions at the Dow chemical plant along the Mississippi River triggered panic in parts of the capital area late Friday night.
Iberville Parish Sheriff Brett Stassi told WBRZ that six explosions were detected at the facility around 9:30 p.m.. Witnesses living nearby caught video of massive flames and said the shockwave was felt from miles away, including in parts of Baton Rouge.
All plant personnel has since been accounted for, and the firefighters appeared to have the flames under control as of around 11 p.m.

I believe there has been news stories about that chemical plant. How the residence has experienced a extremely high number of cancer deaths and diagnosis.

Yep and you are being a little bit selective about what chemicals are in that plant people don’t know this shit the fuck up your whole town or community east Ohio with that train accident happened that area is still fucked up and that was mainly due to the state fucking around.
I never mentioned anything about what chemicals they use. Besides where I work at, we use Several different raw materials from Dow. In different forms liquid and powder.
Well, I just found out the chemical that was near the fire and probably caused a fire and it is used to make antifreeze and that particular chemical Has to be kept under freezing temperatures because it’s very reactive with heat. Something tells me the refrigeration component for this chemical had a malfunction and then boom.

Residents near a Marathon Petroleum refinery fire in Louisiana ordered to evacuate

Residents within a mile of a fire at a refinery storage tank in Garyville, Louisiana, must temporarily evacuate, according to an email from Marathon Petroleum Corp.
The company said the fire is contained to the refinery’s property, about 40 miles west of New Orleans, and there have been no injuries.
“As a precautionary measure, St. John the Baptist Parish is requiring residents within a one-mile radius of the part of the refinery closest to the fire to temporarily evacuate to locations the Parish is making available,” Marathon said in a news release.
CNN has reached out to the Parish emergency management, Fire Department, and to the Louisiana Department of Environmental Quality for more information.
“As always, our main priority is to ensure the safety of our employees and contractors, our neighbors within our surrounding community, first responders, and to limit environmental impact,” Marathon Petroleum Corp. said. “An investigation will be conducted to determine the cause of the release.”
