Mueller will testify Trump committed Obstruction.[UPDATE-5/10 Committe Testimony]

https://www.cnn.com/2019/05/05/politics/mueller-testify-house-judiciary-committee/index.html

(CNN)Special Counsel Robert Mueller has reached a tentative agreement to testify before the House Judiciary Committee, according to committee member Rep. David N. Cicilline.

"A tentative date has been set for May 15 and we hope the Special Counsel will appear," Cicilline, a Rhode Island Democrat, said on "Fox News Sunday." "We think the American people have a right to hear directly from him."

Cicilline said the agreement is still tentative because "the representative for the Special Counsel has" signed off, but "until the day comes, we never have an absolute guarantee."
He added, "The White House has so far indicated they would not interfere with Mr. Mueller's attempts to testify."

Democrats have been working to hear directly from Mueller after Attorney General William Barr came under fire for mischaracterizing parts of the Mueller report, and a letter surfaced late last week suggesting Barr had misled Congress.

This should tell folk all they need to know with Barr when he agreed to the senate hearing but didn’t keep the same energy for the House hearing because it’s dem lead..

Now Mueller will talk with the house first instead of the senate lmaooo

Ms Lindsay thought she was slick talkin bout the senate don’t need to talk with Mueller it’s over only to back track and invite mueller a week later after learning Mueller was in talks with the dem congress

I bet they will come up with some bullshit lawsuit before the 15th to keep Mueller from testifying.

This is going to be tricky. I seriously doubt that Mueller is going to outright say "The President Obstructed Justice." If he didn't come to that definitive conclusion in his report and instead opted to let Congress decide then why would he state that conclusion now?

Likely, He's going to stick with answers that summarize what's in the report..."We found this as stated in the report!" "That is a matter for Congress to decided!" "I wrote a letter to AG Barr etc"

Mueller and his team don't want their names associated with a definitive conclusion that the President of the US obstructed Justice etc. That gets messy on several fronts. The most notable being Trump and Co. try and use it as a rigged investigation from the start and a long attempted Coup of his adminsitration.

If Dems ask the right questions..

Same way Sen Harris asked Barr the right questions in which he had no answer for or lied

Yeah. They'll likely regret that strategy. We'll see how Mueller responds. I'm not confident in his giving them the goods they really need because he's so "by the book". Maybe he'll be a bit more open since Barr pretty much shitted all over him in front of the Senate.

Harris son'd him. The Dems need to just start handing over their time to 2-3 people that asked good questions. A lot of the Dems in the Senate just wasted time. Harris really exposed Barr and that whole thing about not even reviewing ANY of the underlying evidence really hurt Barr's credibility.

True, also Ted Leu said he’s going to invite Sen Harris and yield his time to her for the questioning lol

We already know she will ask the right questions which will give Mueller his opening to smack Barr the fuck up

He will "not" speak as Mueller's "thoughts/opinions" he will speak as a reader of the report. If the question is outside of the scope of what's in the report then i fully expect him to plea the 5th. Specifically, so he can come across as unbiased in this investigation and state things as they were found based in fact. No conjucture, No opinions. Just what the facts state!

Which btw is the right way to do it. You don't want to give this Trump admin any legal challenge that this thing was bias from the beginning and Mueller "person thoughts" supplements that concclusion.

I would think they would do this and not let people get up there and ramble. I wanna see AOC step to the plate.

ALL EFFORTS POSSIBLE will be made between now and the 15th to keep Mueller from testifying.

Yeah. Have one person ask the right questions. Harris (AOC as well) asks precise questions that you can't walk around with BS. That's why she always has them stumbling and trying to play semantics with (asked, suggested, hinted like Barr did with Harris). She not only exposed him for not viewing the underlying evidence, he admitted without directly saying it, that Trump has been asking him to investigate his opponents. The question was so precise that he had to either lie under oath or just not directly answer.....but not answering is as good as admitting that it happened.

That was for Barr, unless he said it again somewhere else... either way, I approve of letting Kamala ask all the questions.

How do you definitively know he’s going to answer as the reader of the report?

Look at this mans track record during this entire thing. Based on everything we've seen and read he seems to be a stickler for protocol. He and his team absolutely could have stated a bold conclusion in that report(Trump is innocent, Trump Colluded etc) but they didn't. Why? I think amongst other things and more importantly they felt that only Congress has the power to make such and important conclusion.

He's not going to throw that fine-line walking under the bus now.

don't be stupid
one can only plead 5th if there is a possibility of self incrimination in a crime

He can request not to comment on something that's an ongoing investigation. Taking the 5th is only if you would incriminate yourself by answering so we won't get any 5th amendment stances. I think he'll respond to things in the most impartial way as possible and won't answer hypotheticals (like.. would you have indicted Trump were he not the POTUS?).

Meuller is not going to outright say Trump committed a crime because they didn't charge him with a crime.... He will say Trump's pattern of behavior is/was disturbing and that's all.

the key to the Mueller testimony is- if its gonna be substantial / real - they will do 2 sessions - one open session - open to public and cameras - followed by a closed session run by committee counsel instead of members - if that happens, its gonna get real hot in DC

That's the key. And in reality, it makes sense.

that is not what his report says...
The report presents evidence of crimes committed by Trump & co.
but because of current doj policy - Mueller states that congress needs to determine if Trump should be charged / indicted via its over sight upto starting the impeachment process
