City news reporter Shuana Hunt is seen interviewing a man who found vulgar and sexist remarks shouted at her on camera "hilarious." That man, identified as Shawn Simoes, has since been fired from his job.
Who's laughing now?
A bunch of dimwitted soccer fans who were filmed heckling a female Toronto TV reporter with sexist and vulgar remarks — which they defended as "hilarious" — are now facing major time outs.
That includes one man being fired from his job and Calgary police announcing that they're prepared to press charges.
The strong repercussions follows city news reporter Shauna Hunt deciding enough is enough when an on-camera interview with fans following Sunday's Toronto FC game was interrupted by a man saying: "F--- her right in the p---y."
The obscenity came with laughs by a group of men who were seen standing nearby.
"Were you guys waiting around to see if you could 'F her in the P' me live on TV?" she asked the men after politely pausing her interview but keeping the camera rolling.
"Not you, but yes," one man smugly responded.
The trashy trend, often written out as FHRITP, has led to police announcing that they're prepared to press charges against those who shout it in public.
"It's a disgusting thing to say. It's degrading to women," she informed him while sharing that it happens to her regularly.
The Toronto soccer fan didn't seem to get it, however, and neither did one of his supporters.
That man, identified by The Star as Shawn Simoes, defended that the trending trashy interruption — often written out as FHRITP — "is f---king hilarious. I don't care what you say."
"It's f--king amazing and I respect it," he brazenly told Hunt while further telling her that she's lucky there isn't a vibrator here "like in England."
When asked if his mother would find his taste just as funny, he replied: "My mom would die laughing, eventually."
On Tuesday The Star reported that Simoes has been terminated from his job as an assistant network management engineer with Ontario electricity company Hydro One that last year paid him $106,510.
Hydro One also confirmed that report in a statement posted on Twitter.

"Hydro One is taking steps to terminate the employee for violating our Code of Conduct," they tweeted. "Respect for all people is engrained in the code and our values. We are committed to a work environment where discrimination or harassment of any type is met with zero tolerance."
Maple Leaf Sports and Entertainment said in a statement to The Star that they're working to have the other men seen in the video banned from future events for "at least" a year.
The Calgary Police Department has also announced that "this activity constitutes grounds for a charge and arrest."
In a letter sent to the city's broadcasters, they asked that future public offenses, like the one that happened to Hunt, be reported to them "as soon as possible so that we can follow up on it. I think if we collectively address this early, it may mitigate similar occurrences in the future," according to the letter obtained by City News.
The department said the obscene behavior in a public place violates section 175(1)(A) of the Criminal Code. That code outlaws "a disturbance in or near a public place, (1) by fighting, screaming, shouting, swearing, singing or using insulting or obscene language."
