MSNBC Contributor Calls Out 'Biased' Coverage Toward Israel... MSNBC retaliates

All I can talk about is the night line up on MSNBC.
Chris Hayes just gave a pretty tough interview to an Israeli secretary but didn't get anyone from Hamas to come on because Hamas refused.

Israel is defending itself in the strictest definition of the word, it's the proportionality that's the issue. They keep falling for this trick of getting sucked into shooting battles where they kill a bunch of civilians in response to some random bombing that hits no one from Hamas (who are some corrupt mofos for ever letting shit escalate when they know their people are the ones who are going to die).

I actually think it's more powerful and meaningful to see the wounded and dying than sit around hearing one spinner after another selling their propaganda, from either side.
I'm right now watching them cover a Palestinian hospital that's overrun with the wounded, with a lot of focus on children.

Actually I think it's more powerful to hear the voices on the other side of the debate. The propaganda of one view being heard and putting those images in the context of "we are defending ourselves" etc.... Outweigh just seeing images.

People automatically think an official is coming with a biased pov.
But there is no bias to seeing a little Palestinian girl who was just paralyzed in an Israeli attack. The "we're defending ourselves" argument, no matter how convincingly made, comes across as hollow to the images of bleeding, dying Palestinians.
Again, that's what I see with the night time shows. It might be just as Jabreal said during the day hours.

And people in power would agree with my assessment on the power of imagery. The public turned on Vietnam when the images of Tet hit their tv screens. It didn't matter that we actually won those battles.
GW Bush made sure to not allow the images of dead soldiers being brought home in flag draped coffins to be splashed across front pages and tv news reports because he knew the American public would only stomach so many of those sights.

One side has tanks... The other side has rocks. But the ones with stones are the terrorists........

Yeah, the same way the native people were the savages, even though they were being slaughtered for gold by those that came over to spread "the one true religion".

Still wanna eat the pussy?

Yeah, that "ban" didn't last long at all.

They didn't want that racism clud hanging over their heads and Hayes and her are friendly.

He kept trying to say they are covering better and missing her point..

She is talking about pundits and interviews not just the pictures of destruction.

News casters make it seem that Hamas just woke up one day and decided to shoot rockets....

only giving the Israeli side of life in the region and not the oppression that Israel holds over Gaza.

Hiding in Whiteness to attack and then in Jewishness when attacked

I'm happy someone has spoken on this publicly

Israel has been bullying and guilt tripping people into taking their side with their bullshit propoganda

Theyre the real mvc's (most valuable crackkkers)

Fuck 'em

Israel is the 5th strongest military in the world...they can't even get hit with a palestinian missile because of their missile defines system. but they're Bombing innocent people in Gaza who can't defend themselves and then covering it up by calling them all terrorists....just look at the disparity in death tolls...North Americans are Puppets to the media.

5th??? :lol::lol::lol:
Are you Mad???

The ANC MPs condemned Israel in South African parliament 2 days ago

and your posting is the first mention of it i have heard...

our media is designed to paint a narrative to support a position not to present the news or all sides of a particular circumstance.

in the case of Israel either empathize or support them or be villified

All of the media here pretends hamas woke up one day and decided to fire rockets. .never any talk of how this started the conditions palestinians live under due to israeli occupation and oppression or how israel has consistently fought the two state solution.these conversations don't happen because only israeli spokespeople are interviewed and sympathetic media.

I find it funny that these same people are the ones to decide what level of focus should be shown..so the show the death and feel that's enough.

Like white folks determining if black folks should be offended or how women should feel about their about their heakthcare decisions

He didn't miss her point at all and conceded the general one sided nature of the coverage. He was talking a narrower point where she attacked his network and pointing out how they've done a much better job than in the past and compared to their competitors, a point she conceded. He did note that it's harder to have a more well rounded story when Hamas won't do interviews. It is not the same to interview common Palestinians on one side and Israeli officials on the other. That is just another form of propaganda. It's not common Palestinians shooting rockets or making demands, it's Hamas.
I don't watch any other cable news so if people are getting the impression that Hamas just woke up and started shooting rockets, they have been misinformed (purposely). But that's not what's happened on MSNBC at night.

I wasn't talking about Chris Hayes in particular...The first inteviewer the networks and media coverage in general.

Chris Hayes gave her a chance to get back on air and have the conversation.

But they don't just interview Israeli officials, they interview american supporters and the so called journalists themselves.

They interviews common jews.

And Hamas isn't the entire government either they have a unity government that includes Hamas.

I was listening to Armstrong Williams show one morning before Madison came on and a caller asker him why does he only have Jews on and he himself supports the jews but they only give one side.

His answer was then the callers can give the other side...while he was over talking the caller and sits silently while the jews and jew supporters talk without interruption.

In fact they doing them just like they did the ANC who were still on the terrorist list even after Mandella was president

You and I are having the same discussion Jabreal and Hayes had.

The one sided narrative in favor of Israel is apparent and unquestioned except that those that want to maintain the status quo.
But she made direct criticism of one network and he pushed back and he was right. She went too far in her criticism of MSNBC.
If she wants to criticize ABC, do that. Let ABC defend themselves.
Armstrong Williams' behavior doesn't surprise me as he still wants to stay in good with White conservatives.
The only common Israelis I've seen interviewed on MSNBC at night was one representing the group that refusing to serve in the military. During those hours, the coverage is almost exclusively done on the many Palestinian victims and journalists on the ground in the area.

The point is that every single story shown is always codified with defense of Israel and it makes them seem like victims .

Chuck Shumer talked for 15 minutes on MSNBC to Chirs mathews who also was defending Israel.

He maybe a senator but he is also a jew and that makes him a common jew to me.

Nobody is talking about the 8 year blockade and the lack of economic trade Palestine can have because Israel determines that. Nobody is talking about the poverty in Palestine as being a direct cause to those tensions.

Nobody is talking about Neyanyahu blocking the two state solution is and being the primary reason no peace process has moved forward.

The US has donated $115 billion in foreign aid to Israel since World War II, making it the largest post-war recipient of aid. That compares to $4 billion committed for the Palestinians in the same timeframe.

Those are the things that come from having a Palestinian perspective on this news casts that can't be shown by just showing dead bodies while allowing supporter of Israel to continue to set the narrative of the hows and whys..

There is no dialogue

with each report of Paletianians deaths we hear how many rockets have been fired at Israel but they must be bottle rockets because there are no deaths, no empty beaches,,its Israel is killing kids but........

Hiding in Whiteness to attack and then in Jewishness when attacked

Chris Hayes was right in saying that a network wouldn't react to being attacked...Chris Hayes addressed the criticism the next evening with her instead of just defending the network so they both got from each others perspective....That showed something from him......
