I'd have to agree though, I like Hill Harper, but if I fall asleep in the first ten minutes I'm calling it quits.
 
Wish I didn't start watching it. Not into all this rape and depressive shit. I need feel good movies in my life right now. This movie was too heavy for me at this point in my life. Guess I should have yield to the title.

Maybe we should have a little warning when we tell men about a movie with graphic rape scenes. Some of us (me) are pussies and would rather not stomach it especially in black movies.

Sorry about that kjxxxx- I myself am watching it in spurts for that very reason. But then I feel like the least I can do is watch it because the truth is, at this very moment, all of those horrible things are probably happening somewhere to somebody.

I used to do excerpts from the play it was based on back in school...just getting the balls to read the lines aloud makes you want to cry. I imagine Perry's version is somewhat watered cause it had to be adapted into film...I hope I'm right.

Hey I had family who lived in a town that thought shopping was going to main street where the biggest store was the Salvation Army. The only clue of an outside presence they had was a MacDonalds. The only one in town. The only one closest to the nearest town. And the nearest big town was at least twenty minutes away.


I been out all day and just got back in...only to find out the ending is missing?! I can't watch that knowing I don't get the ending. If new links arrive I'll give it a peep.

But I think the link she posted had the end. It doesn't have the typical the "the end" part of it but you can figure out that the story is at the end.

Now for something back on the lighter side.

Since we've had so much back and forth regarding Tyler Perry's "For Colored Girls" where folks thought Tyler wasn't making movies that showed black women in positive light and his movies were lacking positve messages or that he was bashing black males. nothing to really discuss. In each film, Tyler Perry has examples of positive and negative black men AND women. Not always the main character. Most people who say that have not really watched one of his films and are just going by what their boys say.
 
American Flyer (2010)

American History X (1998)
