dude- this needs to be your next bingeYeah - still need to see this series. It's been on the To-See list for years.
Been on a 30s/40s film kick these last few months.
Something I used to do when we had only 6-12 TV channels way back when.
YouTube has a variety of channels that show a ton of this stuff.
This was a GREAT one.
It has Claude Rains and a pre-KING KONG Fay Wray.
dude- this needs to be your next binge
there is no fall off no sub par episodes
for quality writing its only competition on FX is Americans Fargo Snowfall & Atlanta
(Shield & Sons of Anarchy were inconsistent)

Eric Roberts was never even a decent actor. If I watch something he's in it is purely by accident. I wonder who he had to fuck to be in Dark KnightAPE vs MONSTER
Monster Mess
PRAISE: This flick provides some great unintentional laughs. Hilarious how some of the characters were beyond uncaring about others. I stuck it out because I was waiting for a certain character to bite the dust in a big way
PROBLEMS: ULTRA bad acting coupled with terrible CGI and a plot that made no sense.Sure have a conversation in Russian with no subtitles.
Eric Robert's looks like they woke him up from a bad bender to film his scenes.
The script was structured in such a way that the crappy CGI wouldn't have to be used that much.
I could question tons of things that happen and don't happen in this flick but I know the answers to the questions are LOW BUDGET !!
Scale of 1 to 10 a 2

Movie of the night: Great White
Pretty simple. Even though the actors were unknown , they didn't act poorly or pull a Eric Roberts and just mail it in
The Woman in the Window
WINDOW WASH OUT
PRAISE: I was amazed that such a talented group of actors were in this flick about an Agoraphobic Doctor named Anna Fox who witnesses something she shouldn't while keeping tabs on the Russell family, the seemingly picture perfect clan that lives across the way.
All of the actors including : Amy Adams, Gary Oldman,Anthony Mackie
Fred Hechinger,Wyatt Russell, Brian Tyree Henry,Jennifer Jason Leigh and Julianne Moore do a fine job with the time they are given.
There are some nice visual touches and noticeable nods to Rear Window.
The film really tries to create some original moments by altering characters and narratives. There are some thrilling moments near the climax of the film but.....
PROBLEMS: Its to little to late. A lot of talent was underused. The slow pacing coupled with to many uninvolving moments that were set up like a stage play took me out of the movie. One moment in particular was to put a nice bow on everything at the end of the film but it could have been reduced to a minute.
Usually Director Joe Wright is excellent at even making the most drawn out scenes mesmerizing but not this time.
I recommend watching 1987's The Bedroom Window starring Steve Guttenberg over this movie.

wasted my time with this piece of shit movie
so much talent wasted
dont bother

Movie of the night: Great White
Love shark movies. Rooting for the shark. Dinosaur movies I'm rooting for the killer dinosaur. Alligator movies...yep, rooting for the alligator
People suck, so I hope the make believe ones don't make it It's like killing a biker or a rando walking down the street on GTA V
A surprising 8
Pretty simple. Even though the actors were unknown , they didn't act poorly or pull a Eric Roberts and just mail it in
The Aussie Matthew McConaughey clone held his own. But there were only 5 people throughout most of the movie. Low budget, but the only part that showed the low budget was the first shark visual
20 minutes left and it's still worth the watch. Definitely watchable. Easy 8. Nothing so far to push it lower
**Edit**
Okay, the end lost it at least half a point lol
This is my collection of prehistoric teeth
I felt like I fell asleep during some of this, but didn't, because some of this was so unnecessary. I didn't understand Angelina's job and why it mattered to the movie. She could have just been a hiker. The fire fighters were nowhere to be found while this big blaze was going on, and they finally come after everything. And how they survive, how long did they hold their breath? It was pretty cool and entertaining though.
It was cool. It was like Chris Rock's response to the police shootings of black people. The most gruesome trap was the first one. The rest of them were pretty average and weren't as creative as I expected, but I guess they have a hidden meaning. Sam Jackson isn't in it that much.

I really enjoyed this.
The dudes that do the kung fu skits on the MartialClub youtube channel had small roles in this. Another set of youtubers made it to the big screen.
Army of the Dead
Zacks Zombies !!
PRAISE: The Walking Dead, Zombieland, Dawn of the Dead....can Zack Snyder infuse some new blood into a decades old genre?
In this story that happens after a zombie outbreak in Las Vegas, a group of mercenaries takes the ultimate gamble by venturing into the quarantine zone for the greatest heist ever.
Snyder does introduce a few new things and actually had one idea I had hoped he had done more with.
The film knows it has a blank check from Netflix and a 2 and a half hour plus running time and that's a good and bad thing. The movie does its best to develop the characters in the film with that time.
The cast including Dave Bautista,Ella Purnell,Omari Hardwick,Ana de la Reguera,Theo Rossi
Matthias Schweighöfer,Nora Arnezeder,Hiroyuki Sanada, and Tig Notarodoes are enthusiastic enough to fill the shoes of the colorful characters.
I am impressed by the some last minute CGI work that had to be inserted into the film.
There are some great kills and visuals and writer's Zack Snyder,Shay Hattenand and Joby Harold pile on perilous predicaments that are fun and involving.I was amused by the glimpses Snyder gave of how crazier the movie could have been.
PROBLEMS: It doesn't take long for the movie to go down predictable paths and create a huge plot hole by introducing a certain story thread. The film asked me to suspend disbelief several times especially for a couple of situations that happen near the end of the film.
The film runs out of steam here and there and it's as if the urgency in the plot is forgotten several times.

A Quiet Place 2
Silence is Golden
PRAISE: Picking up to nearly where the great A Quiet Place left off this chapter revolves around the Abbott family now facing the terrors of the outside world as they continue their fight for survival in silence.
The cast including Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds, Noah Jupe ,Cillian Murphy and Djimon Hounsou does a great job with their expressions of fear, determination, raw emotion and bravery.
Director and writer John Krasinski knows surviving in Silence is the main ingredient that makes these movies work and actually doubles up on it.
There are great how can I hold my tongue in extremely painful or perilous moments
Krasinski manages to make the murderous creatures more agile, limber and intimidating.
There is a great Alien vibe for a portion of the movie
Krasinski can take a calm scene go to pure panic and anxiety in 0 to 4 seconds!!
PROBLEMS: Spotty predictable moments. I thought one character arc was going somewhere and thought well this will be...NOPE GRAND OPENING....GRAND CLOSING !!
Some of the movie has a been there done that feel that I've seen in a dozen end of the world as we know it movie's and TV shows.
Not as great as the first film but really how can you top something that was beyond involving and original
