Movie News: Ryan Coogler & Michael B. Jordan - SINNERS - jim crow era vampire flick (SPOILERS OPEN!!!)

One more "What If"

What if The Native Americans from the white folk cabin scene came back to help and used their magic combined with the hoodoo woman magic to fend off the "White Vampires" I really was expecting them to come back.
No lie I was expecting them to come back and help at the end

This is a tricky movie to market to a general audience. Selling it as a juke joint flick wasn't going to cut it. Also, just showing Michael B and the black cast fighting some generic white Jim crow racist wasn't going to sell the movie to a general audience either.
Yep they had too. They had to build hype. Im
Normally against the spoilers but they had to with this movie to sell it.

The way Ryan Coogler added the great blues player Buddy Guy to the movie Sinners is very similar to the way Mario Van Peebles added the late great Woody strode to the movie Posse

Woody Strode was famous for his dual career as a prominent football player and a successful film actor. He was a star at UCLA, breaking the color barrier in the NFL as one of the first Black players in the league. He then transitioned to acting, becoming a character actor known for his physical presence and appearing in numerous films, including "Spartacus" and "The Ten Commandments,"

Michael B. Jordan: I mean, you know, I'm always… I'd be up for it. Not saying he wouldn't, but he calls the shots!

Ryan Coogler: I call the shots? Zinzi?! I mean, no, for me, my favorite movies are ones where it feels like a world was happening before, and a world is gonna happen after.

Jordan: Yeah, that you care about the characters, and that you wanna see what happened to 'em? What happened before?
The movies tells you that there are monsters. This just happened to be vampire. Next time it could be a demon or werewolves. This basically supernatural lol

The Choctaws said, "This isn't our problem anymore, deuces," especially when they saw the hoods.

I believe the Choctaws would have gotten more involved had they not seen the hoods. After they saw the hoods, they figured those two people in the house, oh well. I would have done the same. Anybody with hoods I'm not performing CPR. I'm not calling 911.
Lol I get it. But these fools cant just let vampires they created walk around like everything is cool.

I like the movie. I could have use lil bit more details and action. But I see the movie had a 90 million budget. So I get it.

My gripe is SPOILING so much of it in the very first trailer. We didn't have to know WHO turned, there was ENOUGH there to do a 2 minute trailer without revealing all that. You could have EASILY mad it look like the twins have to save the town from vampires. and that's it. With sexy women cool music and awesome visuals.

But I MUST concede your right in a sense because if after seeing ALL that tin the trailer the audience STILL came out in roves?

its either Coogler has reached Nolan Spielberg Cameron status ALREADY

OR

the trailer was dope.

I think its the former based on all the screenings I attended.
This why I dont watch trailers. Because it did kinda messed up the movie for me. I agree with everything u saying. Thats why I made the comment I coulda use more details and action. But the movie was still solid.

They created? Who are “they” and what did they “create”?
Those Indians. The movie says there are rituals that everybody is using to heal people. But the bad side of the rituals is u can bring demons etc back to earth. And I believe the Indians did it and fkd up brought the vampire in this world.

I don't even think it's that. But let's say the Choctaw tract this vampire down, but it got away. There might be a story behind Native American vampire hunters. Hell, I hear there's even a book on it..

And there's a lot of damage a single vampire can do over one night's period, But what they weren't going to do was try to grab hold of this vampire with dusk rapidly approaching. That wouldn't have been wise

If they wasnt responsible and were just hunters then I agree with u. But if they were responsible then they needed to kill him by any means. Shit even u said look what damage one vamp did.

But this why I wanted a lil bit more details on how this vamp was made or even were he came from. I believe it was the ritual gone wrong. But thats just guessing at this point.

I saw the movie in IMAX yesterday and it was dark. Darker than either of the other times I'd seen it, once on a regular screen and the second time on Cinemark's version of IMAX. I fear that it will suffer a similar fate that Black panther Wakanda forever suffered at the home video, it was really too dark to watch in some instances, particularly the night scenes. And, since this movie takes place in the dark half the time it may be a problem

I'll look for it when I go see it for the third time later on this week

What part?

Edit I’ll have to watch and pause the screen

Looked to me like the devil was leaning against a crib.

I need to make my own youtube breakdown.

This is exactly right and not only do I not watch trailers, I don't watch, "Next week on..." Whatever show I'm already watching. I don't want any spoilers. Some people don't mind having the movie spoiled for them or the show spoiled for them, it's kind of sad when it does occur when the trailer spoils All of the movie secrets

I saw it when I saw the movie last night. I also saw vultures flying around this house and vultures flying around the juke joint at night also. That was missed on the first and second watch.

I wonder what I'll pick up on the fourth watch

You MISSED the vultures?

You saw it but you ain't gimme my props though?

Vampire sh*t.

I missed the vultures over the juke joint. I saw the vultures over there white people house, but it was significantly darker at the juke joint, And it may have been cut off because of the picture framing since last night was the first time I watched it in IMAX

If you can?

See the 70MM film version

Different energy.

I'm sure Robert Rodriguez wept when he saw it
