If it came out today it'd be a hit, but not enough people even read the comic back then. That and the movie diverges from the comic by quite a bit.

it was odd that it was an initial success but hell of a cast (featuring Captain America, Superman, Captain Marvel & the Punisher to name a few) and has earned its place a bonafide Cult Classic

looking forward this and happy they brought back most of the cast as voice actors
