The first movie from 2006 did 164 at the box office on a budget of 135 - 150 mill, per wiki.
That's a failure with whatever they paid in marketing. Not enough to justify the sequel. Sucks for the fans who wanted a continuation of the plotlines.
I thouroughly enjoyed that as the mood and character development were excellent.
The directors cut was good

I like John's idea of John David Washington as Tubbs. Michael B. Jordan would be fine but I think John David would be better. Quiet as Kept, I think Winston Duke would be good as well. Maybe John Boyega as well.
Chris Evans would be good as Crockett, but I figured they would want to go with someone younger and I really think Seth Rollins would be perfect in this role.
With Joseph Kosinski attached, I know it's gonna be good whoever they get.
