Movie Debate: What the hell is going on with 30 MINUTES of TRAILERS at movie theatres?! UPDATE!

No, I noticed that too. I am not sure why the show about 20 minutes of trailers before the actual start time but I have a few ideas.

A lot of people like to show up "fashionable late," so the 20 minutes of trailers works for them (they won't miss the movie).

The 20 minutes of trailers allows people time to go to the bathroom, and purchase items from the concession stand also.

Personal note: Back in 2015 I went to the theater to see the "Hateful Eight." Now, I know to make sure to use the bathroom before hand because you're going to be sitting there for nearly 3 hours (The runtime for the "Hateful Eight" is 2 hours 55 minutes).

Something, I ate didn't agree with me and started reaking havoc with my stomach in the middle of the movie (when you're at home you might be able to pause the movie).

I could jump up and run to the bathroom, but then I am going to miss scenes that are germane to the plot. So, I had to sit and suffer for a while.

Fortunately, Quentin Tarantino added an intermission in the movie and that saved me.

Bro it's not even trailers

ITS ACTUAL TV COMMERCIALS!!!
I've seen the TV commercials also, but they usually run those prior to the actual start time.

This is what I have noticed.

Let's say you plan on seeing the "Watcher's"@8:30 PM (AMC Theaters)

If you arrive between 8:15 - 8:29 PM, you will see TV commercials, Movie Trivia Quizzes, and Maria Menounos will be the hostess (No movie trailers will be shown prior to the listed start time of the show).

At 8:30 PM (listed start time of show) you will see several trailers of upcoming movies (lights will dim).

The trailers will be of the same genre of the film you are about to view. If you are about to view a Horror movie you will be shown upcoming Horror movie trailers.

At 8:50 PM , the lights will get even dimmer and they will start the movie that you came to see.

Them prices ruining the movie experience.. I know quite a few people that were gonna see certain movies this yr and than saw the tix price and said fuck that free streaming it is
They can become a member of AMC theaters and it's free to sign up.

On Tuesday's, you may only have to pay $9.19 when you purchase the ticket online (purchase a Senior ticket, they probably won't ask for I.D.).

Regal theaters offers a similar deal on Tuesday and it's also free to become a member.

Them prices losing their consumer base.. especially once people saw that the same boxes of candy they be selling at the theatre for like 7 or more was $1 at the dollar tree.. than people heard about the popcorn and how sometime they try to sell day old popcorn… the 90 percent ice in the cup with 10 percent drink

KABOOM!!!!

Just trust the customers with some respect is all I ask

You can plan for it and if you want to avoid the trailers show up about 10 minutes after the movies start time.

However, you really need to know how the theater you are going to operates, because some theatres might actually start the movie at the exact time.

Ex. AMC theaters on 42nd street probably operates somewhat differently than the AMC Magic Johnson theatre in Harlem does.

From birth to 2012 I only came out of pocket for a movie 5 times.. there was a time I use to go to the movie every week for free for yrsss.. so never really cared about price.. all those connections are no longer so when I see them prices I’m like hell no

Remember in some locations, before the movie starts you have to deal with a long clip of her saying how things"..feel good in a place like this.":lol:

Bro with YOUR network?

We probably all know each other not realizing we all KNOW YOU.

Tallback aka Network T
This has allegedly has happened b4.. at the festival this past sat I allegedly had various people network with each other for various future projects and the joke was how somehow everyone was like 2 degrees of separation from each other and the person who everyone knew was me who ended connecting everybody else. Summertime will be a bunch of possible networking opportunities cause certain fields seem to want me to be pulled back in
