Atlanta police are investigating a car crash between two parents that killed their infant girl, authorities said.

About 7 p.m. Monday, officers responded to a two-vehicle crash on Chappell Road near Eason Street in northwest Atlanta, police said. When officers arrived, the infant and the child’s father were both injured inside one of the cars.

They were taken to a hospital, where the girl died, police said. Channel 2 Action News reported that she was 3 months old.

The child’s father was also taken to a hospital, where he is stable.

Investigators believe the father had placed the infant in his vehicle and was beginning to drive away when the child’s mother intentionally struck his vehicle with hers, police said. The woman has been detained by police.

Homicide detectives are investigating the case, but no other information has been released.

Nah, that’s the end result. Did the father try to snatch the kid and run? Was the baby strapped in? Not condoning running to a car with her baby in it, but if dude was trying run off with the kid and she was trying stop him, I could see the motivation in trying stop him. Either way, the end result is fucked up.

I have bad instincts. Whenever I see a highway I immediately want to run across it. When I’m cooking food I can’t help but put my hands over the flames. It’s like a moth to a light — I’m drawn to it. But I’m trying to be a better person in 2021. The lord knows that I’m trying my hardest.

Whenever I read an article I try to imagine what the author wants me to think and feel about their story. And this is America. These reporters can’t dismiss all attempts of agendas and biases to save their shitty careers. So instead of jumping into a pit I’m thinking about where does this ledge will take me.

It’s a salacious story without the scandal. And that’s my friend is not how you tell a story. Then again it’s an Atlanta story. The quality of reporting gets degraded as I-95 turns into 295.

A mother has been charged with felony murder after Atlanta police accused her of driving her car into a vehicle that her 3-month-old baby was in, causing the child’s death.

Titayanna Phillips, 21, of Atlanta, is also charged with aggravated assault in the case, police spokesman Officer Steve Avery confirmed to AJC.com.

Investigators believe Phillips intentionally struck the vehicle after the child’s father placed her inside and started to drive away, AJC.com previously reported.

Officers were sent to Chappell Road near Eason Street in northwest Atlanta about 7 p.m., police said. When officers arrived, the baby and the child’s father were both injured inside one of the cars.

The infant, identified as Khy’undra Henderson, was taken to a hospital in critical condition, Avery said. She was later pronounced dead. Her father, 27-year-old Undra Henderson, is stable but remains in the hospital.

Witnesses told Channel 2 Action News that Phillips stood by and even made a phone call as firefighters scrambled to remove her daughter and her child’s father from the mangled vehicle.

“The car was turned sideways over here against the tree and she was ramming her car into the side of (it),” neighbor Tarangela Jones told the news station. “She was screaming, ‘I told him I’d kill him,’ and then she was like, ‘Can y’all get my baby out of the car?‘”

Phillips was booked Tuesday into the Fulton County Jail, where she remains without bond, online records show.
